Post-punk meets dreamy indie

When I first heard Young Unknowns a few weeks ago, the bewitching, alluring vocals of lead vocals Meredith Meyers instantly reminded me of the smoky, sultry voice of Karen O. It's a sound I couldn't resist, plus their music simmers with such plushness and dreaminess. At times, they also remind me of Fleetwood Mac, a band that I've grown up to with such admiration. The New York indie band released their Endless Landscapes EP a couple months back on Willow Walk Music, and I find myself swooning every time I hit the play button on EP track I Want To Lose. It's a stunning beauty. Young Unknowns also offer up an astonishing, downtempo cover of The Cars' classic Drive on the 6 track EP. Drive is a straight shot for my heart, such an oldie and goodie. Their version of the tune is even more achingly poignant, if that were even possible. Young Unknowns' new single off the EP, however, is actually the more mid-tempo, captivating title track Endless Landscape. The bittersweet gem reminds me some of an Australian band I love very much named The Jezabels. Not complaining.
