September is National Suicide Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness. We can all help prevent suicide, which is a preventable cause of death that can affect anyone, including physicians and medical students. Young Doctors

Last night I spent some time on Facebook looking at some of the people I knew in high school. All of them look like they've aged while I'm over here looking like I should still be in high school. I'm sure I'll still look young as a resident, assuming I get into and through medical school which I feel confident that I can and will. I don't see how patients and other doctors will take me seriously, no matter how mature I am and professional I act. I guess I'll find out in a couple years.
