You Look Like My Next Mistake—oh gosh, this story is simple and sweet and oh so good.  Bookish and serious Derek is a sophomore and Stiles is a popular senior who meet at a frat party in college.  (He steps in when Derek is harassed by two of his vicious ex-girlfriends).   After which, Derek doesn't quite understand why Stiles starts seeking him out on campus to spend time together—or inviting him to sporting events and frat parties....because why would someone like Stiles want to spend time with him?  

I like this version of Stiles....he's confident, secure, has a reputation of being promiscuous and is oh so over the moon for Derek.  Plus, this version of Derek is a virgin who doesn't have the same hang ups as his Teen Wolf counterpart, which brings a different dynamic to the story.  And I love how Derek's sexual inexperience isn't an issue or the focus of the story— Stiles just wants to be with him and lets him set the pace in the relationship.

Multidisciplinary Studies—sixteen year old werewolf, Derek Hale, spends time at the local library studying for the upcoming PSAT exam and becomes infatuated with the new librarian, Stiles Stilinski.  (The older man is a senior in college and works at the library during summer breaks).  It's told from Derek's point of view and Stiles is hesitant to show him any interest at first due to their age difference and because he doesn't want to take advantage of the teenager, which Derek finds frustrating.  

Their relationship develops slowly over the course of seven months and gradually progresses into dating towards the end of the story.  (Derek finds the pace agonizingly slow, but Stiles is respectful of his age and doesn't want to pressure him into moving too fast).  

It's a lovely story of a teenager's first love and first meaningful relationship and what could have happened if Derek had met Stiles first instead of Kate Argent.  Also, I would have loved to see a continuation of this story with the Hale family werewolf reveal and especially Stiles' point of view as his boyfriend develops from a teenager into a sexy adult, but I'm satisfied with where it ended. Enjoyable story!

Weave Soft Spells Over My Sight (As Thy False Eyes Do)—told from Stiles' point of view, he has been an assistant to the Hale family for a number of years and lives on their property in the preserve.  There is an age difference in this story—Stiles is twenty one while Derek is an introverted and serious teenager still in high school.

Considered to be the black sheep of the family in comparison to his sociable siblings, Derek has been coming to Stiles in the past year to be patched up after fights, which is out of character even for the werewolf, but won't allow him to neither get involved nor tell his parents.  This time as Stiles is patching him up from yet another fight; Derek bites him on the neck—leaving an obvious mark—and then leaves without an explanation to his behavior.  Keeping this odd behavior to himself, Stiles is asked to speak to the patriarch of the family, Vincent, and becomes entangled in a mystery involving an ancient grievance and secrets.  

The story has a fairytale quality that feels rather ominous and horrifying as the plotline progresses.  In regards to the budding relationship, Stiles has a hard time processing that the werewolf is actually interested in him because he watched him grow from a little boy into a teenager and figures it had to be a passing fancy that would fade away in time.  Also, Stiles has self-esteem issues because he sustained scar tissue on his torso from a fire and as a result, doesn’t think anyone can look past them to love him. (His father died in the fire). Finding it easier to keep people at bay, he remains oblivious of Derek’s strong feelings and unintentionally hurts the teenager when he rejects the claiming bite.  Derek has known Stiles was his mate from the moment they met, but with at least a five year age gap between them, Stiles never noticed him as a potential sexual partner nor in a romantic capacity until now.  

As for Derek's characterization, I found him to be excellently portrayed as a moody and unsociable teenager who has a hidden agenda (he wants Stiles as his mate) and is being pulled by his instincts to claim the human as his own.  Personally, I would have like to have seen Derek's viewpoint to get a different perspective, but overall this was an excellent story.
