Mace sending gifts to Boba every time Jango fails an assassination is such a specific mood. It's almost passive agressive but instead of passive it's like... a backhanded insult? Mockery? Something on those lines and I LOVE IT.
It’s like someone sending a flower basket that’s just. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FAILURE BECAUSE YOU SUCK, but the flowers are all for your son so you can’t throw them out and you have to stew quietly while your son gleefully makes you a flower crown out of them.
OKAY LISTEN.
I've seen alot of posts being all "Windu what a salty mf" because of his line in the new tcw episode calling Ahsoka citizen and not letting her know all the Jedi tea. And I'm here to say
He's not being mean/disrespectful. Ahsoka has just imposed herself that she is a citizen and not a Jedi. Therefore she has no official right to know what the Jedi are doing.
It's true, she just captured maul and they should be thanking her for that, but he's making a point here. "You say you're not a Jedi, you aren't allowed to know Jedi business." Mace Windu is not being hateful in this line. (Am I biased becsuse I love his character and it's the exact thing I would have said? Yes. Am I tired of the general hate Windu gets in the SW fandom? Yes.)
Fox the pirate has me thinking of some wild 17th century pirate AU. Imagine each battilion having thier own ship with thier Jedi as captain. The captains are all allies/friends and don't mind sharing territory, but the crews have a fierce rivalry and are constantly attacking each other however they can without their captains finding out.
That is beautiful.
I couldn't sleep and stumbled on the concept of Mace having the weirdest storage system. When Cody moves in he is disgusted because 1. Mace keeps his plates in a drawer. Cody has never owned a peice of dinnerware in his life but he KNOWS that's how how it goes. 2. Mace keeps his boots in the kitchen cabinets. His excuse is that the space was available. 3. "Do you have *common household appliance?" "Yes." *Pulls out of some obscure cubby only acessible to those with the force.* "Darn Jedi."
xDD
Oh wow I love this. Mace is like the equivalent of that one roommate who keeps their peanut butter in the freezer and their bread in the glasses cupboard, but puts their coffee mugs in the linen closet and has random books piled on top of the fridge. He can absolutely find everything, but no one else can. Don’t even try to ask where the knives are, it won’t end well.
(Modern!AU where Cody comes over to cook his new boyfriend dinner and is promptly so horrified he has to sit down for a bit, because what is this, he hates it.)
You know one.Hing that really annoys me about Anakin is that he tells Ahsoka in TCW that she "wouldn't have made it as Obi-Wan's Padawan but you might make it as mine." And I... don't understand that line at all. Like what is he trying to say? Does he think that Obi-Wan has the impossible standards that she'll never be able to live up to? Is he trying to encourage her in some backwards way? Is he trying to keep her from wishing that she was Obi-Wan's Padawan instead of his? Why would he say it?
Anakin always had an element of gaslighting asshole to him that Palpatine just honed into a weapon exhibit 241, tbh. Like, I love Anakin a lot, but he’d definitely not hesitant to use emotional manipulation or backhanded compliments to get what he wants. And that came off, to me, like Anakin trying to get Ahsoka to like him more than Obi-Wan, even though she was intended to be Obi-Wan’s padawan, and just. It’s so meaningless and ridiculous, but he does it anyway. And maybe it was just meant to be a joke, but uh. I don’t need all the psych programs I took to be able to sense some treacherous waters right there, ho boy.
More Mace and Depa feels because apparently I am incapable of writing anything else.
(A bit of background, basically Mace sees a shatterpoint around his death and defeating general Grevious and takes matters into his own hands. Set a little before ROTS)
Finally alone, Depa sits on her bed for a moment, letting the silence envelop her before reaching into her robes and drawing out the object Ponds had given to her.
A note pad and stylus- one that had to be at least twenty years old. Mace had almost always kept it on him since he had been elected to the council. Her hands shake once as she presses her hand to the screen and it scans her palm before lighting up in confirmation.
Depa's eyes sting as she gazes at the screen and sees that every single note is open to her. She can almost feel Mace's presence through the familiar slant of the handwriting as she skims through the first few titles. Council notes. Meditations. Lightning Strategies. Clone Names.
At the top of the screen the most recent one is dated the morning of the day he died, simply titled. Depa.
Depa takes a breath, closing her eyes to let her emotions wash over her, and opens the file.
Depa, I'm not going to record this message to make sure it cannot be tampered with. Unfortunate, maybe, because it is easier to get emotional in writing. I write this with absolute certainty that by the time you read this I'll be dead, and Grevious with me. I know you'll be angry because I could have left and survived, but I've foreseen this. It's a shatterpoint, not unlike the one on Geonosis, and I am willing to sacrifice myself to bring an end to this war my mistake started.
I have a few favors to ask of you. First is that you take on the lighting squadron under your command. All of them are loyal to a fault, and would surely petition to serve me posthumously if they could. But they need a general to run their operations under and I know you will be able to handle them. They are good men, and will serve you well.
Secondly, please make sure to check up on Plo for me. He will surely throw all of his energy trying to take care of anyone and everyone as Master of the Order. He'll probably mother you as well. Let him for a bit, it's healing to him, but make sure he gets his rest.
Lastly, remember how much I care for you, and make sure you take care of yourself. Take a few extra hours of meditation alone when you need to. Do not feel like you must go out of your way to "carry on my legacy." You are my legacy, as Caleb will be yours, and you are more than enough.
Be at peace, Depa Billaba. The force is with you.
Mace.
I'm thinking about a Depa/Grey wedding in my "(eventually) happy no order 66" au and i kinda want to cry. I just want them to be happy.
