It’s worth to mention Mauritius’ environmental awareness. There’s not much garbage laying around on the streets or anywhere else. When you go grocery shopping don’t forget to bring your own bags for packaging as there’s no plastic provided at all. You can buy some paper bags, but they will cost you. At some small stores biodegradable plastic bags are provided at no cost for fruits and veggies, but they are so tiny! Way to go, Mauritius!

Если вы собрались в супермаркет за продуктами, не забудьте взять с собой сумки или пакеты для упаковки. В магазинах вы не найдёте привычного пластика, можно только купить бумажные пакеты, и не дёшево. В некоторых овощных лавках можно найти вот такие (как на фото) разлагающиеся, безопасные для окружающей среды пластиковые пакеты, которые даются бесплатно для упаковки овощей и фруктов.
