I am not your escape.

Yes, I live a bold life of curved lines

I sleep late 

and make art 

and wear clothes that your mother would not approve of.

My home is cultured with trinkets of my travels, 

and I do not think much of them. 

So you look to me to be your uniqueness, 

your reassurance that you are not actually 

one of the 9 to 5 masses,

a 401k in a suit.

And as much as your admiration 

for my unconventional life is nice, 

I am not your escape.
