Philippians 2:1-4 (ERV) - Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement He has brought us, the comfort of His love, our sharing in His Spirit, and the mercy and kindness He has shown us. If you enjoy these blessings, then do what will make my joy complete: Agree with each other, and show your love for each other. Be united in your goals and in the way you think. In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves. Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.
Sorry, but someone needs to say it. <3
Okay, so some manifestors I've seen on this platform are saying some specific things, which I think spread unintended and/or harmful messages, and it needs to be spoken about.
I will be talking about what these things supposedly mean and how they're harmful to the manifestation process aswell as peoples minds. Xx
People on this platform are making statements such as:
1) "Time doesnt exist"
2) "The past is just your imagination"
3) "You've manifested everything that has ever happened in your lifetime"
As i said previously, it can spread quite harmful messages and/or make manifestation feel more confusing or even may disrupt the process itself. That being said, let me get into them in number order.
Statement 1. This quote isnt particularly harmful as in HURTFUL to people. However, it gets rid of the one thing that makes everything possible. People justify this idea by saying that time is a social construct, which in itself it isnt. The things about time which are socially constructed include the name we gave it, and the increments such as seconds, hours and minutes. However, what actually defines time is a start, a finish and everything in-between. The idea that time doesnt exist is likely to disrupt your manifestation process by removing the idea that you have it. Think about it, when you manifest something you want but dont want now...what do you call that? The future. The future requires time. If you remove the concept of time, what are you looking foward to? Something that doesnt exist?
People also validate this statement by saying that this statement is meant to put across the message that your past doesnt define you and nor does your present. This is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! However, again, what past? What present? Didnt you just say that doesnt exist..? 😅 The point is, it confuses and contradicts alot of what manifestation actually is and tends to just make things more difficult...so please dont worry about constantly affirming and building your affirmations around statements like that, it will not work efficiently.
2) THIS ONE is similar to the last one and somewhat comes hand in hand. However, this is where things get harmful when it comes to ones mental wellbeing. The idea that your past is just a fragment of your imagination is completely false because although something that has PHYSICALLY happened to you at some point and NOW only exists in your imagination, it is not JUST your imagination. I dont even think statements even somewhat close to this need to be made because as I said in statement 1, your past does not define you or what you can manifest! So there's no need. Aswell as that, it completely invalidates and actively gasslights (being untruthful or manipulative in attempt to deminish somebodys sense of reality) a person. For somebody who had experienced any form of abuce or trauma (which is most people sadly), this statement comes across as quite insensitive aswell as just being purely untrue, resonating alot with the typical gasslighting tactic people use to make somebody feel asthough they are lying to themselves (we've all heard the phrase "Its all in your head, you're being dramatic!)...And once again, you dont need to dismiss the past to manifest things into your present or future!
That being said, I dont believe anyone who say these things in the context of manifestation are actively trying to manipulate you, i think its just their way of trying to get it in your head that your past never defines what you can/cannot do or if you deserve what youre trying to manifest. However, it is a very messy way of getting that point across!
3) Again! A very messy way to get a very innocent point across...this statement also implies things that can be very emotionally heavy (aswell as being purely untrue most of the time). Unless you're affirming (even without the intention of manifesting) or doing things to actively manifest that thing, youre not manifesting and therefore nobody had manifested everything that has ever happened to them. This statement even without meaning to implies that whatever happens to somebody is their fault somehow, again triggering for basically anyone because chances are if youre manifesting in the first place its because youre yearning for something you dont have or to get rid of something your deeply insecure about, the statement implies that what you have which you dont want is something youve asked for or something that your fault and things that you dont have you dont have because you decided you havent, and that simply isnt true...
Once again, I don't think this is the message that the people who use this statement is trying to put across! However, grammatically, that is what the statement says.
"So...what does the statement mean to say?" youre probably thinking. What the person is likely trying to say is at some point throughout your life you've probably disliked something about yourself or your life...for example, lets say you want to lose weight. However, you tell yourself "my metabolism is so slow, ill never get slimmer". In that case, even without meaning to, you are affirming which is a form of manifesting. And thats not your fault!!! However this is the point people are trying to make when they use statement 3.
I really hope this helps somebody out there who's confused as to what to what kind of point these statements are attempting to make, and i hope this makes it a little less confusing because ive been there!!!
Last but not least, why am i talking about this in the first place?
Im talking about this because I have seen the following statements repeatedly floating around this platform, and for the reasons stated above, I feel they can hurt and disrupt peoples journeys. I am here to make peoples manifestation journeys easier in any way I can.
Love you all!!! Thank you for reading, have an amazing day and happy manifesting. <333
