You wanted to know about our MCs so here goes.
Lucian Dale, who is the type to be fair but a bit strict. He still cut down the apprentice without hesitating, but was kind to her friend right before, you know. I also am having fun playing him very religious (even tho I'm not... At all. And never okay religious characters in IFs) mostly bc I'm curious how that'll turn out once those believes get challenged. Also I think it's his refuge from dealing with the whole circumstance of his birth and how it's mirrored in this Baker/Ausling situation.
I also think I might make a not-so-religious but extremely strict and by the book Delacroix MC, again bc I'm curious how that'll shake out. I normally play kind characters so the fact that this IF is drawing me out of that comfort zone is fun. :)
Wahh Lucian (Dane?) sounds so cool, thanks for sharing!
In general, I would encourage people to approach their Knight-Corporal as more of a role-play opportunity as opposed to a pure reader self-insert. Kind of like how you would a DnD character. Fiction as a medium allows for the exploration of ideas and concepts that you might find uncomfortable irl (like religion), so there's nothing wrong with stepping out of that comfort zone—it's encouraged, actually. I'm glad that the story is making you want to do that!
And you're right—a strict, by-the-book MC is going to be a juicy perspective once you leave the tightly controlled ecosystem of the Tower and get out into the real world.
