here i am, playing with the idea of maybe doing more comic pages for Your Own Side once in the future, trying to draw up a draft for them. at this point, i’ve got no clear character designs in mind. Yet still, I’ll never have to wonder whether it’s Uriel I wanted to put at a certain place or not, as I have found a very expressive way to sketch her stickman-like self:

Heeey, so, guess what: I’ve become kind of obsessed with not-a-space-alien’s Your Own Side series of stories. Which made me temporarily forget about the facts that (a) I can’t really draw, and (b) I’ve never done a project like this before. So, behold, the first couple of pages of what could be an awesome comic book series - but won’t, not if it comes down to me, because wow, even this much was exhausting and almost beyond my capacity to make.

Important: CREDITS at the end of the post! (Basically, the character listing page is just copy-pasting/editing work, the original artwork does not belong to me! Message me if - in spite of the disclaimer - I should just take it down. I’m new to these things, sorry.)

- The story serving as the basis of these pages is: In Sickness, written by @not-a-space-alien (link: on AO3). The (almost) all-text pages contain its Chapter 2: Prologue. The last page is just the last line of that chapter (because it still haunts me), interspersed with my additions so that I could make it into an illustration.

- On the 3rd page, I arranged the Dramatis Personae of the entire story-series. BUT! The actual images there are not mine - I’ll explain in a second. I don’t actually know how n-a-s-a imagined many characters, so, in order to make a page like this, I could only rely on what already appeared in or accompanying the story. Appearing in Chapter 10: Feast of Aziraphale’s Legion, @petimetrek made a wonderful illustration, displaying a large chunk of the cast. It was too perfect, so it would have been futile to try and compete with those designs for the characters. Falling back on that wonderful artwork and drowning the eventual tumblr post in paragraphs to give credits to the original artist seemed like a better idea - maybe this way more people will end up seeing it? If I was wrong, again, I’ll take it down. In any case, just to make it absolutely clear, the pictures for the characters on page 3 are from the following sources:

        -- Aziraphale, Beth, Adam, Noah, Maltha, Abraxas, Crowley, Adramelech, Botis and Mittens: from petimetrek’s illustration appearing in Chapter 10: Feast.

        -- Yulera, Mammon and Michael: from posts in not-a-space-alien’s OC tag (because I couldn’t resist putting in a soft overexcitable puppy image)

        -- Oryss: from n-a-s-a’s illustration appearing in Chapter 2: Oryss and Olivia of the Interlude: First meetings part of the series

        -- God: from n-a-s-a’s word-art appearing in Chapter 8: Back to Heaven of Falling Hazard.

- On the last page, I added a random demon who’s had to suffer through hellish healing pre-story. The ones in the black bubbles are Maltha’s lines, as they appear in Chapter 2: Prologue of In Sickness. The ones in the white speech bubbles are lines/thoughts of the random demon I tried to fit to the former.
