Every so often I get asks about Your Party, Jeremy Corbyn’s new venture, and I used to hold the opinion that he would be good for England.

But the reality is - he’s past it. Your Party is a complete mess, every time they are asked their stance on anything they say ‘oh it’s for the members to decide at conference’.

And that’s not how political parties should work. You need to have some founding principles and they just don’t.

They don’t know what they believe about Scottish and Welsh independence. Zarah Sultana stumbles and trips over offering the most basic solidarity to Ukraine against Russian imperialism.

There’s already been concerns about transphobia, and Scottish green councillors announced they’d joined the party, in the same week Your Party welcomed people from Alba.

They are all over the shop.

Politicians on the left need to be more vocally critical of the Online Safety Act because this kind of censorship is only going to get worse.

How it feels watching the co-founders of Your Party arguing before the party even got a founding conference

Decided to crunch some numbers on what the Duke of Westminster’s £4,000,000,000 in dodged tax money could have funded in the NHS:

The annual salaries of 25% of nurses

The annual salaries of 32,800 consultants

3,090,411 hospital patient interactions

7,736,986 GP appointments/primary care

745,205 ambulance and 111 calls

(All of these at once by the way, and it’s not even an exhaustive list- these are just the biggies.)

This is with me being conservative and rounding down; most of the numbers should be slightly bigger. According to this article, 14,000 people die on NHS waiting lists a year. Despite this, rather than actually tax the mega wealthy, the government would rather let the proletariate die in the name of the bourgeoisie’s bottom line.

The NHS being in the shitter isn’t born from a vacuum, and it can’t be fixed by moving round the breadcrumbs the working class spend on public services while Hugh Grosvenor, and the other billionaires, sit on their wealth like fucking dragons. Starmer has done next to nothing to handle austerity and the lives it’s taken, and the last thing we need is Farage giving tax exemptions to the parasites who caused this fucking mess.

Join Your Party, or at the very least the Greens. They’re the only way we can fix this broken system.

Look, I’m hesitant to say this but Zarah Sultana cannot read a fucking room. This is the second time she’s jumped the gun. The announcement of this party was a borderline shitshow—it didn’t feel like Corbyn’s team were even ready, and there was confusion over the so-called “co-leadership.”

I fucking love how Sultana speaks on issues. But if she doesn’t understand that she may have already sunk this party—or at least handed them a mountain of damage control—then we’re in trouble. We’re talking about people’s actual money here. Members being told to cancel direct debits? That’s an albatross that will be brought up at every turn as proof of incompetence.

And if we strip away the desperation for something better (which, frankly, the Greens are nailing right now), it is incompetent. How are two leaders of a brand new party not confirming every single detail before taking people’s money? It’s a joke.

I’m so disappointed. I wish they could read the fucking room and stop handing the media exactly what they’re salivating for.
