Ireland is coming to the end of a three year pilot of Basic Income for Artists.

2000 artists received €325 a week for three years, and every euro paid to participants resulted in society receiving €1.39 in return.

Artists’ earnings from their art increased, there were more cultural activities and events and there were, unsurprisingly, huge leaps in participants’ psychological wellbeing.

It appears that JK Rowling’s team invited Jeffrey Epstein to the Cursed Child play and to a Harry Potter themed dinner.

This invitation was from 2018, long after Epstein had been convicted of soliciting sex from a minor.

Absolute banger policy. The SNP want to introduce a sort of ‘baby box’ equivalent for children starting school.

The school bag would be filled with essential school items - stationery, books, a water bottle and information for parents to help with literacy and numeracy skills at home.

This is very cool and will have an immediate positive impact for families. Idea very much originated in Finland but great to see it spreading.

Baby boxes contain everything from clothing, nappies/diapers, books, thermometers, baby wraps, muslins, a changing mat, nursing pads, information for new parents, and condoms.

The box itself acts also as a bed for the baby to sleep in.
