Narratively it’s not important he has one, but I do find it interesting that Ed doesn’t pass comment or seem fully aware even of the situation. I bet Blackbeard’s fleet never ran out of oranges yet there’s no criticism of Stede’s captaincy. Ever. Ed never patronises or gives unsolicited advice despite his vast experience. The oranges storyline is played out in a parallel narrative because it’s not Ed’s problem to solve.
(Ed has more pressing issues anyway, such as whether the gorgeously disheveled blond in the fuchsia robe is ever going to kiss him).

How often do they sleep together?
At the start of the relationship it would probably start off slow because Az has a few trust issues and Emmrich wouldn't want to intrude.
But eventually, it would become an every night thing.
It's mostly cuddles though tbh. I headcannon Az as Grey Ace {like myself} so sex is rare for them. Though tbh, I also headcannon Emmrich as Grey Ace so it's a very harmonious situation :3

Where do they sleep?
For a while they'd swap rooms, until Emmrich eventually convinces Az to just stay in his room, mostly because the couch isn't exactly built for 2 people, while Emmrich's King sized bed can fit them both and then some LMAO.
Eventually, post Veilguard, they spend half the year in Nevarra in Emmrich's flat, and the other half in Az's Parents old home {that he inherited after their death.} So once that happens, it kinda depends on which place they're staying lmao. But I mean... at this point they're both their homes and beds so who cares right?

How do they prepare to sleep?
I imagine Em simmilarly to how @redheadsramblings does honestly.
1. Bath, Lotions, Fancy Moustache Cream, etc.
2. Gets his PJs on, Brushes Hair, Brushes Teeth.
3. Checks in on Manfred before heading to bed for the night. Partially to see how he's doing, and partially to make sure he's not causing chaos somewhere lmao.
I think he also probably reads a book in bed for a bit, depending on if Az wants to do something else or not.
Az is messier to be honest. He's overly tired, and just wants to crash for a few hours before he has to get up doing more bullshit the day after. So his routine is literally just:
1. Bath.
2. Boxers & hair cap.
3. Face plant the bed.
LMFAO.
I feel like Em would worry at first, but when he sees that it's just what works best for Az he's just happy to see his husband get some sleep.

What do they wear to sleep?
Emmrich definitely wears a fancy silk robe & a pair of comfortable pyjama pants. He probably also has fuzzy slippers for when he's walking around.
Az? Boxers & a hair cap. Possibly socks if he can be bothered.
{Though Em does eventually buy Az a matching silk robe and convinces him to try it once. After that Az starts to wear it during colder nights, and will begrudgingly admit that its comfy as fuck jkdlksq }

Do they cuddle?
Yup! Az is a big ole cuddle bug, at least when he likes someone. Man is touch averse UNLESS he likes you, then maybe you can hug and touch occasionally. If he is romantically interested in you? Well, you better hope you like cuddles because otherwise you very much are not compatable and won't last long LMAO. {Good think Emmrich is a cuddler too hehe!}

What are their preferred sleep positions?
When alone?
I think Em probably sleeps on his back. Not sure why, he just has that vibe to me.
Az? That man sleeps however his body lets him sleep. If he can pass out in the position, he's sleeping in it. Though it more often than not results in him falling asleep, face planted into his pillow.
Once they're together?
Then definitely in a cuddling position of some sort! Usually either Emmrich resting his head on Az's chest, or Az curled up into Emmrich. They also like spooning equally. It mostly just depends on who is a bit more emotionally in need of feeling safe that day, which means they usually 60 /40 {with Az being the 60} but Em doesn't mind, he's just happy he gets to cuddle his husband :3

How easy do they fall asleep?
Hmmm, I'd say Em's ability to sleep depends on his stress levels or if his minds stuck on a specific problem / topic that day. Though I do think it probably wouldn't lead to any actual sleepless nights unless it's really bad. So... idk its' about 50/50 with him.
Az doesn't get sleep often because he keeps over-exerting himself to help everyone else whenever he can. So when he does get sleep he passes the fuck out quite quickly.

Do they toss and turn a lot?
I don't think Em does, at least not normally!
Az usually doesn't either, unless he's having a nightmare, which unfortunately is an occurance that gets more and more common as the story of Veilguard progresses. Eventually, it's most nights as we reach the peak of the games events, which leads to Emmrich needing to cuddle him to calm him down.
His sleep does slightly improve after the events of Veilguard, once all is saved. But it's never gone, and he's still worse than he was before Veilguard. But small victories, eh?

Hmmmm, I'm not too sure actually. I think usually it's Az though, he is usually half naked after all and the Necropolis can get cold esp at night dskhjhaskslkl.

What do they dream about?
For Emmrich I'd have to agree with @redheadsramblings 's thoughts on this! Mostly fade walking and magic related dreams. Though, of course nightmares of his parents, Manfred, Az & death will creep in from time to time unfortunately.
When Az is having a good nights sleep, he'll often dream of gardening, spending time with Emmrich & Manfred, and nice memories with the Veilguard gang. During his nightmares? Those are often of the Fade, Solas, his parents, his Ex, his childhood, etc.

How easily do they wake up?
Tbh I think they both probably are pretty light sleepers.
I feel like Emm used to be a regular sleeper, but the events of Veilguard eventually made him a light one after sleeping in tents for as long as they did.
Az was a deep sleeper as a kid, but became a light sleeper slowly over time as a trauma response to always having to be alert once he moved to the circle tower, then the Shadow Dragons, then Veilguard ;w;
All to say, I think they wake up pretty easily, due to the having evolved to be light sleepers lmao.

How awake they are afterwards?
I feel like Emmrich probably is pretty awake when he wakes up, but will still take his time to get his day started.
Before he was with Rook, he probably read a book in bed for a bit. But after Rook & he became an item, he often spends that time reading AND cuddling Rook hehe.
Az on the other hand, he may wake up at the drop of a hat, but he will allow himself to be groggy and nap a bit longer when he knows everythings okay. He'll nod off, usually cuddling up to Em. Especially if Em is trying to leave bed, then he'll try anchor onto that poor man to keep him there a little bit longer to sleep LMAO.
This was SO cute honestly, it really helped me think more about their dynamics in a much more mundane sense which I haven't done in a while. I love my little guys so much ;w;
