I have been drawn to the evil eye protection symbolism for some time, the eye within the hand offering protection and good luck is something I keep revisiting. I personally find a great sense of comfort in the forest and the cyclical nature of the seasons and wanted to incorporate both feelings in this piece. The single eye growing into many as a new season begins.
