I was sort of indifferent about swinging as a child, unless it was the tire-swing on my private school playground, because you could make it spin ridiculously fast and it was loads of fun. So I don't really get excited about seeing a swing-set anymore, but if I actually go to a park and swing, I love the feeling.

With love. Granted, I've never had sex, but I think if it were me, if I didn't love the person I was sleeping with, it would get pretty old after a while.

Oh my God, no. No no no. I scare so easily, it's actually really pathetic. You know that movie Jared did, House of Wax? I was actually shaking, I was that upset. Granted, it was because Jared's death was the worst in that movie, and I was horrified. But in the past, I've never reacted well to scary movies, so I'd rather just avoid them.

some post-7x17 headcanon rambling

Okay, I told Emily I'd do this, so here's my headcanon-until-jossed for what happens starting from near the end of 7x17.

1. After Cas took Satan into himself, Sam assumed he would come with them but it was Cas who said, "No, I'm staying here." Cas'd see what a liability he'd be in his state, not just because he is a crazy powered-up angel now, but also Crowley et cetera are after him. He still sees himself as the Winchesters' guardian, so he doesn't want to impose his shit on them and endanger them BECAUSE SOME HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK, EH, CAS? He's chum in the water and he knows it. Sam still has reservations, but Dean is pragmatic and there's an exchanged look of grim understanding between him and Cas, and then Meg's like, "Hey, I have an idea," because she's smart and opportunistic like that. Meg has her own agenda, sure, but this plan is the best thing they can agree on on short notice.

2. But it's not like walls can hold a crazy powered-up angel. The only reason Cas is staying in the ward is because he wants to be there. He chooses to lay low and to keep off the radar, but in theory it's kind of like that scene from cartoons where the the prisoner can slip his hands out of the handcuffs any time. Aaaand cue scenes where he invisibly creeps on Daphne and is back before breakfast, except probably not right away, because I think he spends a lot of energy just trying not to react to Lucifer in case he loses control of himself. Who knows what kind of damage an angel in his state can do? He just takes it from Lucifer for everyone's own good. He takes it and takes it because literally nothing is all he can do.

3. HOWEVER, I DO REALLY REALLY WANT AT SOME POINT for Cas to fly over to see Daphne because he does love her, okay, HE DOES, AND SHE LOVES HIM - and you can argue all day about what kind of love it is, whether it's hero worship on her side or Florence Nightingale syndrome on his, or something else - but whatever it is, I do think they've come to mean a lot to each other. Also, you know how Cas tends to imprint on his friends and how Cas took on some of Dean's mannerisms? In this episode, I'm assuming those are Daphne's mannerisms. And and and WHAT IF WHAT IF after he tells her everything (because he learned his lesson about keeping secrets from people you love, okay), Cas takes her memories of him from her because that's what she wants. She's the one who thinks it's better this way. AND THEY'RE BOTH HEARTBROKEN, POOR BABIES, BUT WHAT CAN THEY DO, and later Cas is in the garden creeping invisibly on a Daphne who has never been married, and then Meg appears next to him like, "I knew I'd find you here," and makes a double entendre about keeping him on a leash. Then something sinks in and she's like, "Did you-?" and Cas says, "Don't."

4. I've seen this one tossed around the dash and TL and I love it: Meg asking Cas, "What's he saying now?" with a hungry look in her eyes.

I don't get it either. 

Rose Tyler blows up the Daleks because life is awesome with the Doctor and sucks without  him. That is her only motivation. She's not acting under her own volition, either, remembering that she was possessed by the Time Vortex when she did that, and that "Bad Wolf" entity retroactively stacked the deck to make sure that happened. Rose was acting as an agent of fate and predestination, not under her own free will. 

Martha Jones stopped the Master because this blows and you know what? Fuck it, I'm smart, I can do things, let's take him down. She spent a year stacking the deck BY HER OWN DAMN HUMAN SELF and then put her own ass on the line to bring the Doctor back to full-power. And do you know what? Bringing the Doctor back to full power isn't even what saves the world. It was an aspect of Martha's plan that Jack would be set free so he could destroy the Paradox Machine and set the world back to normal. She only restores the Doctor so he won't be super-old anymore. She saves everyone's ass because she sees evil things being done and feels the need to stop them. If not for the Doctor, Rose would not have been able to defeat the Daleks. Martha still would have had every skill she needed to bring down the Master even if she had not met the Doctor. And do you know what she did when she became worried that she was becoming too dependent on the Doctor? She fucking left. She recognized that her family and friends needed her help more than he did, and that Planet Earth would be better with her on it. She didn't plan to stay with the Doctor forever. She was attracted to him, sure, but he was her friend and asserted that she had a life outside of him that she had to attend to. 

Donna Noble is brilliant because she was not given value by the Doctor, only taught to recognize the value that was inherently in her. The "DoctorDonna" she becomes is little more than Donna Noble, Super-temp, using the Doctor's brain as a tool. Donna, with his mind thrust upon her, uses her existing skills and personality to blow up the Daleks. The DoctorDonna is the ultimate symbol of the Doctor and his companion working together. Neither of them individually would have been able to pull that off without the other's skills. Donna still would have had those skills if she hadn't met the Doctor. She would not have been given the opportunity to do so, but she does not GAIN value simply by association with the Doctor. That's what's so tragic about her ending, the Doctor had to erase her memory, including her recognition of her own value. 

On the other hand, Rose Tyler would not have had the means, motive, or opportunity to destroy the Daleks had she not met the Doctor. THAT is what I find valuable in a companion. Don't get me wrong, I like Rose, but there is nothing about her specifically that made her able to do those awesome things. Literally anyone possessed by the Time Vortex could have destroyed the Daleks. And even though I like Rose as a character, I acknowledge that she brings almost nothing of her own to the table. Martha, Donna, Amy, Rory, Mickey, Captain Jack, and literally anyone else would have been able to do what she did because her means, motive, and opportunity were placed on her by an external source. Once again, I did like Rose, but I can't help but believe there is a racial component when people hate Martha, and that there is some kind of age component for people who hate Donna, and if those two are hated and Rose is adored, then there is definitely sexism involved (loving the complacent female companion who spends her entire tenure acting as an agent of her male friend, but hating the female companions who assert their independence from the Doctor and showcase skills that do not come from their association with him is kind of sexist, not going to lie).
