Favourite character: Lena Luthor undisputed queen of being stuck in the Torment Nexus for four seasons straight and then taking revenge on the world by wearing shoes on the couch.

Funniest character: Kara is unintentionally the funniest character on the show. Girl who thinks being asked to do your job that you specifically requested to do is persecution <3

Best-looking character: Manchester Black because I think David Ajala is so pretty. Also Lena when they put her in good outfits and not hideous ones.

3 favourite ships: Kara/Lena, Lena/James, Brainy/Nia. 3 ships that are all very very bad at talking to each other LOL.

Least favourite character: Mon-El really is so awful which sucks because I think the comics character has a lot of potential and deserves a proper adaptation. Like they did not have to make this man a misogynist or a slaveowner (????????????). He is neither of those things in the comics. And now other adaptations are making him an asshole or villain. They really killed this man's whole career and for WHAT. Comics Mon-El get behind me!!!

Least favourite ship: Kara/Mon-El bc can we PLEASE stop writing relationships where it's a woman's job to teach a man to not be a misogynist asshole and it's portrayed as funny !!!!!!!

Reason why I watch it: There are compelling characters and dynamics trapped in this show and I must get them out.

Why I started watching it: I got reallyyyyy bored during the height of the pandemic when I was unemployed and I got back into the Arrowverse and I was intrigued by the dramatic irony at the core of the Kara/Lena relationship so I checked it out.

4: Have you ever written a fic inspired by a tumblr post?

not that i can remember, not unless they were aimed at me specifically as prompts? i really loved, during the height of supercorp speculation, drawing the FANTASTIC ideas mutuals *cough @narraboths cough* would casually drop on my dashboard, and i’ve really enjoyed making fan art for specific fics. i don’t think i’ve ever done the same in fic form! please correct me if you’re reading this and i’m forgetting something important 😬

13: Congratulations, you’ve just finished the WIP you’ve been working on for months! How are you going to celebrate?

i’m going to bed hahahaha. honestly that’s the historic precedent! especially with multi-chapter works i inevitably end up working into the early morning because i can TASTE how close to done i am and there’s no way i’ll sleep knowing all that’s left to do is dot the i’s. next day though might warrant a steak dinner. or ice cream. & dancing through the house. i’m pretty sure after finishing holiday wine i was high for a week just off endorphins.

14: Is there a word or phrase you intentionally use in every fic?

i’ve answered this better before but let me also say i’m a famous fan of em dashes and the rule of threes and will NOT be handing either of them over to AI. they'll have to fight me for them. i call shotgun on the roman chariot

4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year? yes! hannah hendy, the author of the dinner lady detectives series. i picked up the dinner lady detectives in a charity shop, thinking it sounded sweet and cosy, which it absolutely is, but on reading it i discovered that the two protagonists are a middle-aged lesbian couple!

6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to? oh, so many! i feel like my life is one big pile of books i haven't read yet. specifically, i named convenience store woman as a book i was going to read this year, but i haven't got anywhere near it.

8. Did you meet any of your reading goals? Which ones? i did actually! honestly my goal was just to develop better reading habits, which i have. it's been up and down, but i am now reading regularly again, so i'm much happier about the situation.

So I did my bachelor thesis on the local dialect of the area where I grew up, even though the Danish dialects are doing um... not well...

The upside of this was that I got to learn about some really cool features of non-standard Danish that are unfortunately getting harder and harder to find in the wild.

Allow me to introduce you to one of these!

I am obsessed with vestjysk stød, which is exactly what it sounds like; a specific type of stød that occurs in dialects in western Jutland. Vestjysk stød presents between short vowel sounds or voiced consonants and one of the stops /b/, /d/ and /g/. So while a word like hoppe 'jump' would be pronounced /hʌbə/ in standard Danish, with vestjysk stød (and schwa-drop) it would instead become /hʌˀb/. Sometimes the stop disappears entirelyː lukket 'closed' pronounced /lɔgəð/ (being very generous with that soft d there) would become /loˀd/ (and yes I'm aware there's a lot going on there).

Interesting, ikke 'not' would usually be pronounced /ɛˀd/, but because of its somewhat clitic nature, it's usually reduced to /ɛˀ-/ or /-ˀd/, which means that it is occasionally reduced even further to just /ˀ/ squashed in between two wordsǃ I love itǃ

From the questions: What's your feel good movie? :)

I think I’m gonna go with Rat Race (2001). It is goofy, it’s funny and silly, and though there are some jokes that don’t hold up, for me they’re outweighed by the jokes that do, and the fantastic performances from the cast

Plus it has one of my favourite movie quotes of all time, “Good things take time. Great things happen all at once.” <- That always strikes such a feelgood sentiment in me
