I decided to go to Kampala, Uganda for a week of relaxation between my three weeks in Ghana and three weeks in Kenya.
During the week I had the opportunity of visiting the Invisible Children office and learning more about what they are doing to stop the LRA. I love this organization, and was able to visit their office in San Diego, California last month also! I think what they are doing is great and their Marketing Team is amazing. Please check out their website at www.invisiblechildren.com
I also spent a day visiting an Orphanage two hours away and met Kato, who I have been in contact with for the past six months. He started 'Youth Concern for Community Empowerment' and is trying to get Volunteers and to raise money to give less-fortunate kids a proper education and a good life. He is currently building a school, that he is hoping to finish within the next year. During my visit, I donated pens from my job at Sunsets, Inc, bought posters for all the classrooms, and donated money to help keep the teacher's employed. I also took photos of 40 of the children to help Kato get Child Sponsors. You can find more information about his organization here: www.concern4youth.org
Thank you everyone for all the donations, love, and support!
