I saw a prompt by @percaval that said “Person A proposing by putting a ring in bowl of popcorn and using the line ‘I thought it was time to pop the question.’ And person B seriously contemplates saying no because of it.
This immediately made me think of Chilled.
I was going to do a ZeRoyalChaos but…. Well… Who can deny Delirious? I think it works better with him? Maybe?
They do get sappy though and well that is just out of character for everyone. But Fuck It.

More H2OChaos!
It’s been over an hour and they still couldn’t figure out what to watch. They were on their third bag of popcorn already and they were Still scrolling through Netflix trying to find a movie.
“Jon, stop being so damn picky and just pick a movie!” Anthony whines as he stuffs another handful of popcorn in his mouth, “Seriously it takes you longer to select a movie then it does to actually watch one.”
“But it has to be a good movie and all these are stupid!” Jon huffs.
“Are you kidding me?! That one right there is a classic!” Anthony exclaims.
“That one? Are you kidding?”
“Nope! Let’s watch it! Please?!” Anthony begs, pushing his bottom lip out into a pout.
Jon’s a sucker for it and they both know it. He just can’t resist.
He sighs, “Fine, we’ll watch your shitty RomCom.”
“You know you love them as much as I do.”
“Nope! I just put up with them because I love you.” Jon smirks.
Anthony laughs, shoving him while grabbing another handful of popcorn. “Liar.”
Jon hums staring at Anthony who starts blushing. They’ve almost been dating 2 years. Almost 2 years and Anthony still gets butterflies. 2 years and Jon could stare into Anthony’s eyes forever and never grow less amazed. 2 years and their breath is still lost. 2 years and their hearts still race. Two years and every touch brings warmth and heat. 2 years and it was still like they just fell in love.
But 2 years has changed them and that has only made them love the other more.
2 years and their love still is growing.
Anthony looks away blushing grabbing more popcorn. He knows Jon is still staring at him.
Jon touches his cheek bringing his attention back to him. He leans forward and kisses Anthony.
Their tummys tumbling and their hearts skip beats as they draw each other closer, their faces tinted pink as warmth envelopes them.
They part with soft breathes and glossed eyes.
“I love you, Anthony.” Jon says with such sincerity and passion it makes Anthony’s heart swell.
“I love you too, Jonathan.” Is the response with just as much emotion.
Jon smiles pulling Anthony closer, grabbing the remote and hitting play.
The movie starts its intro as Anthony cuddles into Jon, resting his head on his shoulder while grabbing more popcorn.
After a moment Jon reaches into the bowl as well only for his hand to hit the bottom, finding it empty.
“Really?!” he gives Anthony an exasperated look, eyes sparkling with amusement.
Anthony shrugs with a sheepish look, “I love popcorn?”
“Obviously.”
“Go make more.”
“What?! This will be our fourth bag!”
“But we need popcorn with a movie!” Puppy look
Jon sighs, “Alright, alright!”
“Yay!”
“You are such a child.”
“Says the guy with a collection of teddy bears.”
Jon gasps, “How dare you bring my babies into this!”
Anthony laughs as Jon walks off.
2 years didn’t seem long but it was enough time for their relationship to flourish.
Jon comes out with a bowl of popcorn in and goes to sit down, grabbing a blanket in the process.
Anthony steals the popcorn out of his hands as he settles down covering them with the blanket.
“Jonathan.” Anthony tentatively calls, voice filled with confusion and hesitation. “What is this?”
“Well, I don’t know. You’ll have to look at it and find out.”
Anthony reaches out taking the small black box out from the center of the popcorn.
He flicks it open and there is a light red ring with blue and gold swirl designs on it.
Anthony stares at the ring then stares at Jon then back at the ring then back to Jon.
“I thought it was time I ‘Popped’ the question.” Jon says with a wink and a lazy smirk.
Anthony sputters with laughter. “Are you kidding me?! That was so corny!!”
Jon giggles with him, “What?! I thought you’d love it!”
“I have a good mind to say no!”
“Awh, you would never do that. Besides, you’d rather I pull something like this then get down on one knee and give some long sentimental speech. Because when everyone asks you how I’d proposed you’d be able to make jokes and tell them how ridiculous I am rather then turn bright red as you tell them how sappy I can be.”
“It is horrifying how well you know me sometimes.” Anthony laughs as Jon smirks.
“So is that a yes?”
“Of course, I could never actually say no to you.”
They draw each other close and kiss once more, whispering ‘I love you’s’ to each other before relaxing again and start watching the movie as if nothing had happened. Jon has his arm around Anthony, who has gone back to eating popcorn but this time with a new addition to his hand.
The ring fit perfectly and they both loved it.
Anthony’s eyes keep trailing from the T.V to the ring as he admires it, something that Jonathan does not miss.
Time passes and soon Jon can’t stop himself from saying, “You make me feel raw.”
Anthony looks at him confused, blinking slowly.
Jon smiles at the precious look, “When I am with you I feel a lot of emotions. Strong new emotions that make me feel raw.”
Anthony starts blushing, “I thought you weren’t going to get sentimental?”
“I never said that. I said that a sentimental proposal would make you embarrassed. But this isn’t the proposal, this is just us talking. So, this it’s not something you will ever have to relay to anyone. And yeah you’ll be embarrassed but this is just you and me, so that’s okay.”
Anthony’s face turns bright red as Jonathan faces him, “When we first became friends it didn’t take me long to realize that I had fallen in love with you. I knew it was much more than any of the other crushes I had experienced, it was so much more. And I panicked. I didn’t think that you would ever take me seriously. But when I blurted out that I loved you… you did take me seriously. Very serious. And I will be eternally grateful for that. And just dating you for a few weeks made me realize that I was so head over heels for you. I knew then that nothing could ever make me stop loving you. I knew that I wanted to stay by you forever. And over these past two years that feeling has only grown. How I don’t know because it hurts how much I love you yet it still grows and I love you more and I don’t think it will ever stop. The sheer amount of love and trust I have for you… The sheer amount of happiness and warmth you give me… it makes me feel so raw and I love it because I will never get used to you. You will always give me these feelings.”
Anthony was tearing up as he tackles Jon, “I love you so much, Jonathan! I feel the same, the fluttery feeling, the warmth, the happiness, and being so in love it fucking hurts. It hurts so bad, but I never want that hurt to stop and as long as you’re with me it never will so don’t you dare ever leave. Because I want to go to sleep with you every night entangled and wake up the same way, and if not wake up to you dancing around the kitchen cooking and singing because you are so damn cute dancing in boxers and I love listening to your voice. And I love you so much so you can never leave, okay?”
“I will never leave, Anthony. I couldn’t. You’re stuck with me, because I love you too damn much.” Jon sys while trying to blink away the tears. He pulls Anthony close as he can, sharing more kisses with him. When they part Anthony just rests on Jon, both taking a moment to recollect themselves.
They remain quiet for a while as the movie plays until Anthony breaks the silence by tossing some popcorn in his mouth making a loud crunch.
Jonathan starts laughing and reaches to grab some popcorn only to find the bowl empty once more.
“Really, Anthony?! Really?” he laughs and Anthony grins sheepishly at him.
