LIPAT
Ever wondered why life seems unfair to us? As if in every happy situation, there will be an exchange of sadness or pain? These thoughts have been lingering in my mind almost every day since I’ve been aware of my surroundings. But then, here comes the family who taught me to appreciate life more while withstanding those thoughts. Welcome to Day 6 of my journey as a fan of OngFam! For today, this vlog is entitled "Lipat".
First of all, the vlog was called Lipat because the family had to change their chosen spot because of the man who suddenly appeared where they were situated. There is no judgment involved, but the man seems to be not in his proper self, which is why they had to go. And this family was able to teach us that lesson—the importance of being RTG or ready to go at all times when they are traveling. Even before they started vlogging, one of their strict practices to be followed was that their things must always be properly organized so that if there is a sudden call of surroundings where they have to go, they can immediately be out of that dangerous or risky situation, just like what happened here. In the real world, wherever we are, this is actually a must, knowing how dangerous the world can be, whether it be naturally or man-made.
Another thing is that this vlog captured my Filipino heart once again when Mafe Ong received a fish from someone within the area where they are staying. This is actually one of the common practices Filipinos have: their kind and hospitable hearts, where we treat strangers as family. This may contradict the first paragraph, but actually, being kind to others is also based on one’s judgment. The thing is, not everyone can be your friend. Even with that fact, such action is still exceptional, and we just hope that the world will always be that kind.
Last but definitely not least, my favorite part of every vlog Ongfam has is the part where Tito Geo shares a lesson for each and every one of us that is applicable to everyone, from children up to adults. And that take for the day is the quotation written below. Personally, my take on this is just like what I have written from the very start of this blog, where most of the time, I questioned everything I had and referred to those that were not aligned with what I wanted as "unfair". But, truth be told, just like what Tito Geo is saying, there may be times where things do not go our way, but remember that good things still come, and giving up should not be an option because if you stop trying when you receive an unfortunate happening, nothing will happen anymore because you already gave up. For me, that lesson is just beautiful.
