"It was never about the wings."
Worry and doubt are thieves. They’re constructs of the ego that tie us to our trauma in an attempt to spare us more pain. But, nothing was ever made better by pouring negativity into it. Instead it is very important to recognize what they are trying to bring up within us and target those things in an effort to not allow them to deconstruct us. Don’t let anything or anyone undo all of the work you’ve done to overcome. The fear and worry can point the guilty in a lineup, use them, do not let them consume you. #youvegotyou #youvecomesofar https://www.instagram.com/p/BuRSBhUBhPy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16rfcy14c5dha

Today was my final day as an intake specialist, screening youth into the homeless youth continuum of Portland. I'm gonna miss the cozy office and the unique experience of helping the young folks feel welcomed and safe as they enter into the chaotic world of services. This job challenged me more than I thought it would, testing the endurance of my empathy and the strength of my heart. I'm so grateful for the team I had to work with. You were my supporters and encouragers and rejuvenation. And you helped provide me with the knowledge and confidence needed to continue further in my career. Thank you for helping me put another pin in my map. #youvecomesofar #socialworkspeak #anxiety #growth #newadventures #putapininit #pdx (at Portland, Oregon)
This Week's Challenge: Reset...
Hey there world! How did the cleaning come about in the past week? Do you feel less cluttered? Do you still need to clean a few more things up? Maybe you’re not done and still have things to do, but don’t worry, just take care of them this week while you tackle on this challenge as well, you can do it!
So this week, here’s what we’re going to do...we’re going to hit the reset button on life. Or if you prefer, you can very well say restart as well...but whatever your preference, just do it. The beauty of life, of everyday that you get to wake and have the ability to breathe is that even if you might have gone through something the night/day before, the next day presents an opportunity to be able to start over again and literally be able to “hit reset”. It is currently October and how many of us might have had some plans from the beginning of the year that we wanted to see accomplished, but for some reason just let it go? I know I’m guilty of it and not ashamed to say it. But I know that today is a new day where I can see if I can complete whatever it is that I set out to do. Maybe it wasn’t meant for me to accomplish, maybe I just need to try harder, maybe this and maybe that....no need to dwell on it, but to keep moving. Not much more to this, but to keep making the proper moves and to keep in mind that yes, you may fail, yes, you may not get things going the way you might have intended it to go, but to just know that today, this week is another opportunity to get it right!
You’ve got this world...I mean it when I say it that I believe in you. I believe that we all can make great things happen for ourselves if we just put in enough mental backing into whatever it is we are trying to pursue. Be the best this week and let the rest take care of itself...
