So yeah, I've read the budget.
I'll be honest and state that I am both incredibly angry and disappointed in certain people right now (they know who they are), because they had a chance at the last election to do the right thing, and rather then actually fact-check, they took the lazy way out and let themselves be fooled by the pack of charlatans that is our current government. Rather then do the even casual investigation that I implored them to do, no, they knew best.
And now, we collectively have to pay for their mistakes. Well, them and the other 52-ish percent of Australians that voted LNP or LNP supporting parties.
Regardless, I have something to say to them.
If this budget goes through, there is a very real chance that I may have to give up study because I will not be able to afford it.
If this budget goes through, there is a good chance that good people, friends included, will end up on the street because they cannot get the disability support they need thanks to the new DSP regulations.
If this budget goes through, you will be responsible for the degradation of your children's and your grandchildren's planet and lives even more so then your generation's greed and self-interest has already marred the world they will inherit.
If this budget goes through, it will live on as a testament of your gullibility and apathy.
If this budget goes through, I don't know if I will ever forgive you, and I sure as hell will not forget. You sold your children's future away because you'd rather believe a pretty lie then deal with the truth, that the party that you saw as your white saviour was selling you up the river.
I hope you're fucking happy.
