in a star wars au the second someone tried to influence yrz's mind with force trick -- he'd kill them dead. No matter how well meant or evil it was, yrz's head is a yrz only zone.
it's probably a sith of some type, seeing a baby force sensitive with no training and going 'dibs' and trying to get yrz to call him master or whatever. then the sith mentions yrz being reborn and yrz realized he read yrz's mind -- and just kills the sith. It's hard, but yrz has never lacked determination.
so the jedi order finds five-year-old yrz with a sith corpse. he's a little bit traumatized from his first kill, but he doesn't feel bad about it. yrz asks the jedi what joining the order means, and gets the recruitment speel, goes "free food and shelter, access to a library, a cool sword protecting from slavers, in exchange for keeping galactic peace and living by a code (so long as I'm part of the order). alright. I'm in.' The jedi recruiters are like 'uhhhh' but by then it's too late. yrz has made up his mind.
yrz does go on to become an exemplary jedi, because naturally there's no stopping him when he Decides To Do Something.
(yrz with the force is a little funny. he treats it like an entirely annoying person who's annoyingly right all of the time. he doesn't like it but he Knows that it's real. which is irritating for his logical mind.
I think yrz is about ten years younger than obiwan? yrz made knight very quickly for a human. about 18 or 19??)
