really crazy combo LOL i dont think they'd ever meet, mina stays in oldtown basically for the rest of her life after the dance whereas cayn and ysabel would be split between king's landing and the dreadfort. in a world where they meet though i think they're fully just too different to really be any degree of close. mina would be unsettled by both of them both based on attitudes and she's probably not especially woke about northerners so it's a bit of a clash. ysabel is too checked out and mina being a bit older would probably mean they don't have that much in common
I fell in love with the aelora art you posted. Does she usually wear masculine/kingly clothing? You mentioned she grew up pretty independant, does she have a strong bond with her dragon? And what happens to her after the war? She has a dragon, it's not like she can be ignored can she?
I would be interested in whether or not ysabel would care as much if she died in her post war state.

i think she does bond pretty strongly with her dragon, like you mentioned in part because she doesn't really have anyone else to rely on. takes to dressing more like dad ie more in line with what a boy might be expected to wear, spends all her time with this baby dragon, tries to kind of stay out of the way and mind her business. i can't imagine she's especially interested in drawing much attention to herself, even though it's kind of inevitable with the context of who she is and her dragon yeah
in my mind though, by the time this dragon gets big enough to take flying, the dragons are sort of beginning that steady decline before the last dragon is born; so it doesn't grow much past that, and i imagine gets more sickly and frail as aelora grows. after the war she's probably kind of urged to keep it away from court as well (given aegon iii isn't really a fan) and that makes it worse
ultimately it's probably a case of her mostly staying out of the way, minding her business, and eventually dying kind of without any big fanfare - ysabel is definitely upset just by virtue of losing another child but i also imagine it's less about aelora and more about tying it back to when her son died and just making it a case of Ohhh it shouldve been her first. which is really awful to think but she's not really in her right mind
i'm undecided on whether she'd be married or not .. i can't imagine she'd be especially enthusiastic about that or having kids of her own but if she's forced to i imagine it'd be pretty distant and formal. i have another ask sitting about these boltons so ill ponder it some more and post ... eventually ...

this one is funny! because i had some before i even started posting on here ... i got back into asoiaf right around when house of the dragon dropped after a solid few years of it laying a little dormant in the back of my head and i started oc crafting and ended up piecing both of them together in my mind . the plan was to get into tiktok editing . can you believe that
with that in mind i picked some less obscure ones for both of them . as much as i love them i was not ready to sit and find rips of media nobody knows about so i could collect like 3 scenes total and cut them into edit-able material .......... <3
ysabel is very antonia clarke in the serpent queen i feel .... she has a severe case of bolton face i fear. i think its funny because in some ways their characters are sort of similar. i think ysabel has a touch of that frantic desperation and devotion just like mary in the show
cayn . sorry . he's christian bale in little women . this one i don't have any explaination for i just feel like the patrick bateman esque deadpan stare is really really trying not to slip out here

you can imagine they share an awkward half hearted smile and a kiss standing up there with the septon and then they have to endure several hours of awkward small talk during the wedding feast before heading off for the worlds freakiest (in a bad, weird, unsettling way) night

i mentioned already her name is aelora - she's born innnn. ...? ill say 127 ac meaning she's approximately the same age as maelor . she has a cradle egg that hatches - in typical bolton esque fashion she names it something edgy idk i didn't think this far . name that thing skinstealer . i like to think it's born with dark scales and becomes white with time kind of like a baby horse
she grows up with an extremely strained relationship to her mom because in all honesty ysabel doesn't want a daughter . after her brother is born ysabel isn't really in any state physically to care for her children so she spends most of her days doting on her son to whatever extent she can while aelora is raised mainly by her wetnurses and whoever's hanging around the castle which makes her very independent and kind of distant emotionally. girl who stares at you with her big dead eyes etc
she's definitely 'closer' to aemond in the sense that she idolizes him pretty heavily and idealizes a lot of their relationship . the timeline is a bit different here but regardless she's young when he dies so she has a few scattered memories of a dad that cared for her and in turn she grows up wanting to be like him and wanting to emulate all the things she knows about him through stories and whatever she pieces together from herself . there's that ever present thread of medieval misogyny in asoiaf that kind of carries over everywhere and i think with aelora it's that sense of being everything her parents could want in a child but it doesn't matter because she's also a girl. scratches my chin.
after the war ... after her brother dies i think she grows up and starts to really resent ysabel. understands in concept why things are the way they are but will never quite grasp why she was put aside the way she was and how she as a mother could pick and choose which of her children to love . humm. twisted family dynamics at a ruined court etc
in my mind it would make sense for a maelor marriage for her but because dot dot dot. well. there are bumps in the road so idk (scrambles my brain) i like to think she's kind of fond of jaehaera and then viserys ii when she grows older and i'll leave it at that . this is further than ive pondered properly
