A Letter to Ysrathil;
Report on Mission: Iron Hoard
Champion Dawnsteel,
We intercepted the supply caravan in Silverpine and the Warband did not disappoint. We quickly disabled all of the wagons in the caravan with minimal loss to the beasts of burden and wood, and no loss to the supplies inside; they all performed admirably in that regard. It was heavily armed, as anticipated -- what was worse than mages, paladins, and rangers was that there were worgen hiding in the woods. Three huge brutes -- these alpha worgen, leaping around in a frenzy and trying to cleave people in two. People took injury, but I made sure to heal heavily as the only medic present. There are a few who will need looking after by the Centurion and her capable staff, but most should be fit and hale for tomorrow.
Rah’danas was not so lucky as the others. I am...sorry to report that he was killed by a worgen that leapt upon him while he was down. The last I saw, an unfamiliar death knight was dragging him away from the combat, through a death gate -- Merlih waved at the man. If you wish to know where he went, I imagine you might ask her. I wish I could have healed him.
In pleasanter news, we have recovered all of the armor and weaponry you requested; not a single piece missing or damaged, blessedly. We managed to slaughter all of the Alliance save one driver, who I believe will expire soon to the elements. One of the Warband had already broken his legs before he crawled away. Despite the singular loss, it was a success overall.
One more thing: one of the Forsaken who joined us, a rogue named Dierdre, made mention of a tunnel into the Shadowfang Keep. They did not think we were coming to save them, but are grateful for our aid. If you wish to find them, the tunnel is under Pyrewood Village and extends all the way towards the edge of the wall. Tell them your name, and one of them will let you in.
Walk in the Light, Champion. Til tomorrow. Knight F’yaer-Silverwing
