     Alice loves the comfortable silence that takes over them as they’re both focused on their chores. He’s cleaning up in the kitchen while she’s folding their laundry, Lizzie is taking a nap by the window bench and Cinnabun is munching on something crunchy in his basket. Everything about it feels like home.

His sigh has her looking up from the shirt she just pulled from the pile, finding him leaning against the counter, watching her. The compliment catches her slightly off guard and she chuckles through the color rising along her cheeks.

“What’s with that all of a sudden?” She’s wearing her oldest, softest clothes that are a dead giveaway of it being laundry day, and while she feels absolutely comfy, she certainly wouldn’t think herself as gorgeous in them.

     “Unsurprising for anyone who’s known me for more than five minutes, I was a Disney-watching, fairytale reading, wanna-be-a-princess type of kid. And of course, that comes with a biiig sense of betrayal the older you get.” She muses with a chuckle, shaking her head at the thought. “First of all, have you ever tried wearing a ribbon on your hair like Disney princesses do? Can’t be done. That was my first heart-shattering disappointment in life.” And she might still be bitter about it.

“They also give you really unfair expectations of men, too. Well, kinda sorta. A lot of the Disney princes are just... plain useless. They don’t even have names, for Christ’s sake. But when you get to someone like Eric? Oof.” If you say you didn’t want to either be or marry Prince Eric at one point, you’re just plain lying. "That’s not the kind of person that exists in real life. Same for the princesses, really.” 

“...And yet.” Color rises along her cheeks, a smile tipping her lips. “I did end up falling for a prince on par if not better than all of those fairytale ones I grew up with.”

     “Oh, you really shouldn’t give me that much freedom...” She tells him with a timid smile, only half joking. “You’ll be out of jackets and hoodies in no time.” Alice giggles softly as he puts it over her shoulders and holds it closed in front of her cute blue dress.

“I’m doing a bunch of Studio Ghibli soundtrack covers and my subscribers asked for the theme from Howl’s Moving Castle.” Her outfit and how she styled her hair now making perfect sense. “And I always thought this jacket looked like Howl’s. It’s one of my favorites on you. That, and it smells wonderful.” Half of the reason for her to do so in the first place is to be enveloped in his scent (the other half being that he really is very fashionable). She loves all of his colognes and has to actively restrain herself from borrowing too many of his clothes, always washing and leaving them folded by his bed once the scent goes away.

YOUTUBER VERSE @devilslcg & @shrapnelsong

Returning to England with a prospering music channel and an established fanbase, Alice starts living in her mother’s old house again. Since it’s way too big for a single person, she asks her fellow youtuber and all-around sweetie Sanji if he wouldn’t like to move in as well.

The entryway is reminiscent of Japanese homes, with a tiled area and a closet to the side where they can remove and store their shoes and coats before getting up on the wooden floor. To the left, past the utility room, is the library, chock full of books covering all of their interests. Between the shelves is a tropical fish aquarium that they both tend to, and by the skylight area leading to the gardens is a small indoors pet area.

To the right of the entry is a small half bathroom across from a closet where they store their most sensitive cameras and equipments, and a study turned editing room, with two stations where they can work separately on their videos. The large kitchen and its open area previously used as a breakfast room is where they do most of their recordings.

The media room disposes of a large, comfortable couch right by the fireplace facing the entertainment center, which houses various video games and both movie and sound systems. The dining area is set to take advantage of the skylight above and the view of the patio and the garden, which is lined on either side with trees and flower bushes, making way to the pool.

Up the stairs, Alice takes the master bedroom for herself and turns the rightmost room into a music room, where she can compose and record without fear of disturbing anyone thanks to the soundproofing. She has an upright piano, various guitars and her violin carefully set along one wall, with recording and mixing equipment to the right and a clear dry erase board to the left.

Sanji takes the leftmost room for himself and while Alice encourages him to turn the remaining guestroom into whatever he’d like, he has yet to take her up on the offer, insisting he only needs the one.

     Every now and then, her comment section got absolutely flooded with requests for a song that wasn’t exactly new nor did it fit her usual style. Alice kept track of fan requests because more often than not she found really cool songs and artists she wasn’t familiar with and had tons of fun covering. And it was interesting to see a request gain traction to the point that it spread to other videos, then twitter and every other place she could be reached. Okay. She heard it loud and clear.

With a song chosen, her first step was to make her own arrangement for it. Oftentimes she would change a song’s feeling, or even genre entirely. But there were artists out there who had mastered their melodies to the point she dared not interfere. The most she allowed herself to do, especially if it was an emotional song, was take it to the piano. That was the instrument closest to her heart, and the one that allowed her to reach out to other people’s to the absolute best of her ability. 

She was recording audio for her first pass at the song, sitting at the grand piano and just singing it out to get a feel for it. She’d then listen to it, make all the adjustments she felt were necessary and move onto actually recording the audio and then the video. But right from the first time, she fell completely into the story of the song and became so engrossed in it that she failed to notice Sanji arriving back at the house and walking into the kitchen.

Once her voice and the last notes of the melody drifted gently into silence, Alice opened her eyes and finally saw her boyfriend standing there, watching her with such a loving gaze that it made her sniffle like a child about to cry. Getting up from the piano stool, she rushed over and threw herself into his arms, burying her face in his chest. “I love you..!”

     After a busy day of filming and enjoying all the wonderful things he’d cooked, Alice was feeling particularly lazy. One look at the stairs had her turning around to go plop down on the couch instead. Arranging the pillows to her utmost comfort, she put on a movie just as background noise, figuring she would fall asleep in no time.

Once Sanji was done cleaning up, he came around to find her, carrying some freshly made snacks despite the fact that they’d just finished eating, which had her chuckling softly. Their comfortable couch was more than big enough to accommodate both of them, but normally, she would get up so they were both sitting side by side. This time, she simply extended her arms to him instead. He was just as tired if not more, and nothing sounded better than taking a nap together.

With the snacks set aside and Sanji climbing onto the couch, Alice made room for him between her legs, smiling when he so gingerly draped himself over her and rested his head to her chest. “Good work today, love.” She told him affectionately, running her fingers through his hair and kissing the top of his head. “Get some rest.”

     While they both love giving each other gifts, coming up with original ideas for every occasion had become more difficult, oftentimes involving a lot of research and planning. So much so that they both decided on a rule that they shouldn’t worry too much about such things. Anything they chose for one another was heartfelt, so it didn’t matter if it was a “repeat”.

Anything related to cooking was always a hit with Sanji, and she’d certainly gone out looking for a new set of knives, maybe one of those highly specific little pans that are the absolute best for making one thing and one thing only. In the end, she’d come across the perfect gift on accident, walking past a suit store and being absolutely drawn to something on display.

The three-piece suit was of the softest baby pink, and it would look absolutely gorgeous on him. Not to mention how well it fit with his channel’s aesthetic, so he could absolutely wear it for a special video. As soon as he opened the gift and she saw how happy he was with it, Alice latched herself onto him, hugging Sanji warmly and burying her face on his chest. “Happy valentine’s~!”

His quiet comment seemed to settle her soaring heart, only so it could beat more strongly. Pulling away just enough to be able to look up into his handsome face, she smiled and hugged him even tighter, gently pressing her lips to his. “I love you, Sanji.”

     Hearing Sanji’s voice has her turning around with a big smile already painted across her lips. “Merry Christmas, love!” She returns the greeting in kind, habitually wrapping her arms loosely around his neck and kissing him lovingly, not at all noticing the twig of mistletoe strategically placed above them.

When she pulls away and gets back down from the tips of her toes, tilting her chin up slightly to adjust to the lovely height difference between them, her eyes finally catch sight of bright green on the ceiling. “Oh.” The word escapes her timidly at the lateness, but she’s more than happy to oblige to the tradition. “Okay.” And kisses him again.
