When you get this ask, list 5 things that make you happy and pass this on to the last 10 people who reblogged from you! (also i still have to find the time to sit down and respond to your last pm--sorry!!)
Haha it’s fine, you’re still in school (unlike me, I’m out sucker! :P)
1. Food. -insert heart eyes emoji- Seriously, I will plan trips around food. When I go to New York, I’m going to gain so much weight/lose money because there are so many places I want to eat there.
2. Naps. Sleeping, I am the laziest person ever. Just laying down and doing nothing is my thing. Maybe read something before sleeping.
3. Hanging out with friends is awesome. Still, sometimes I’m like.. “I have friends??…I have to leave my bed tho.. can I cancel.. Nahhh” lol
4. I haven’t had the time lately, but video games. I still need to get the xbox 1. Been playing since I was little haha (violent games no less, but I turned out ok)5. I really like the sky and looking at the clouds lol (I even got my friend to paint me the night sky with clouds haha it’s great)
it's a cold and lonely night (but i'm glad i spent it with you)
Taeyeon can't stop looking at girl on the bus.
Her breath catches as Taeyeon sees the girl carefully take her bus ticket and stuff it into the thick padded pocket of her winter coat. The fine powder of dusty snow clings to her dark hair like powdered sugar and for a stupid second Taeyeon wonders if this small pale girl would taste just as sweet.
Taeyeon clutches onto the back of one of the bus seats as the vehicle suddenly lurches forward, watching the waif like figure approach. For a brief second the girl brushes by Taeyeon. She swears she smells something sweet like lavender as thick wool rubs against her shoulder. Resisting the urge to look up at the contact, she stares straight ahead, trying to keep as blank a face as possible. Taeyeon doesn’t even realize she’s holding a breath until the prim looking girl passes her by.
“You’re a hopeless romantic today,” Taeyeon mumbles to herself with an eye roll. Maybe it’s because it’s so late that it’s early. With a sigh she shifts her purse to her lap, juggling the bouquet of flowers in her arm like an awkwardly held baby. It’s not like she wants to be struggling with the huge bundle at nearly 2 in the morning. But after performing at a singing showcase for college, her best friend, Tiffany, had stopped by with the massive flower arrangement and Taeyeon didn’t have the heart to tell the other girl that she had to take the bus. And so she had fumbled and stumbled with the huge thing through doors, stairs, and crowds. At least Taeyeon had been able to finally rest with the thing on this twenty minute bus ride.
She valiantly attempts to distract herself for a few minutes. Taeyeon’s mind flits to the weather -if the snow melts to water in her hair it would cling to her like morning dew on rose petals- music - musicians surely must write their songs about girls like this one- and oh no. She doesn’t even realize she is looking behind her until her eyes are tracing the soft line of the other girl’s jaw.
There is something beautifully fragile, Taeyeon thinks, about the way the other girl holds herself, as if she is breathing in glass as she rests her chin thoughtfully in her hand. Although she tries to be sly about the looks she sneaks over her shoulder, Taeyeon still feels incredibly lame about the fact that she’s being transfixed by a complete stranger. A gorgeous stranger. But a stranger none the less. But Taeyeon should be allowed some indulgences, right?
She huffs and is about to continue mentally berating herself when the bus comes to a stop. Her stop. Taeyeon should feel happy, not reluctant. She’s practically fifteen minutes away from going into her warm bed. And yet, as she slowly stands and adjusts the silly woolen hat hanging past her ears, she can’t help but feel something tug at her as she starts to walk toward the bus's side door.
And suddenly she thinks of something.
It’s stupid and impulsive and so out of character for Taeyeon. But she just suppresses the urge to simultaneously cringe and roll her eyes at herself. Instead of immediately walking out of the doors into the cold dark street, Taeyeon pulls a single rose from her large bouquet. She strides over to the empty back of the bus before she loses her nerve. In a smooth flourish, she brings the dark red flower in front of the other girl’s face. Brown eyes blink owlishly at her and Taeyeon nearly forgets what she is going to say because she can practically see dark golden flecks in her irises.
She could say a thousand things in the moment, ranging from extremely cliche to painfully forward. So Taeyeon settles for a half smile. She gestures for the girl to take the offered flower. Her stomach flip flops when long pale fingers reach out and brush against her own.
“What is this?” the girl asks in a breathy feminine voice.
Taeyeon licks her lips and ignores the bus driver’s pointed glare through the rear view mirror.
“A flower. It-It’s for you.”
The girl’s completely flat expression warms at the words and there is a shadow of a smile curling on her rose bud lips. It takes a lot of effort for Taeyeon to not turn into a blushing blubbering mess right there and then. So she just widens her smile and with a nod, walks off the bus. Taeyeon is immediately hit with how cold it is and it shatters her dimly lit and warm fantasy world of her glass girl with burning fingers and a single red rose.
Taeyeon glances over her shoulder and watches as the bus drives away. And she stares transfixed as she sees through the small window the girl lean forward and sniff delicately at the flower, a smile curling on her lips as her dark hair gleams like a halo in the fluorescent light. And even though it’s snowing and so cold, Taeyeon feels incredibly warm.
