Yue x La angst prompt #1 because I desperately need YueLa content in my life.
Interesting concept! I’ll be honest I had a really hard time with this prompt. (Also omg it took me like five years to find this prompt list again LMAO)
1- “I can’t do anything right.”
Yue sat by the pond and cried.
“Why are you crying?”
She startled, forgetting that she was never alone now. She had replaced Tui, and that meant that La was now her counterpart.
“S-sorry.” Yue wiped at her face. She didn’t know much about La. He was the masculine counterpart, an ancient and practically all-knowing spirit. And she was just some silly kid to him.
She felt more than heard him sigh. Then he spoke, “It is okay to feel overwhelmed.”
Yue felt her chin tremble before she spilled, “I can’t do anything right!”
“Why do you think so?” He asked calmly.
Her eyes widened in shock. “Compared to you, how can I.... what do I even offer?”
“A new perspective.” La answered easily. “Tui knew what she was doing when she offered you life. You are Tui, but you are also not Tui, because you are Yue.”
She groaned and held her face in her hands. He really wasn’t helping. She resonated with what the Avatar had said to her once- ‘I’m just one kid.’
“I am glad you are with me, Yue.” La spoke gently and honestly. Honestly, she knew, because she could feel it.
Well, if this ancient spirit could have patience with her, then maybe she wasn’t so hopeless after all.
Hello! As I'm not done with LOK yet, my ask only concerns ATLA. I'm curious about your favorite rarepairs from Aang's era. Do you have an absolute favorite, or some that catch your attention?
ATLA rarepairs, huh? Glad you asked!
Toko is my absolute favorite (I'm actually working on another oneshot for them right now).
Also, I do love me some Aang rarepairs-- IMHO, Aang is clearly the most shippable character in the show. My favorites are Yuaang, Maiaang, Azulaang, and Sukaang. (I've never been able to get into Ty Laang or Taang.)
Some of my other favorite ATLA rarepairs include JetLee, YueLa, Songru, Sokkla, and Smellershot. I'm also vaguely intrigued by numerous others, and am generally willing to try new ships.
Leftover sales for @crossroadszine are open, which means that I can now share my Yue x La fic, New Moon's Rising, with y'all. (The full fic can be read here.)
“Excuse me, have you seen m-” She tries to say my husband, but the words catch in her throat. There’s been no wedding. They’ve neither joined hands nor shared a cup. There will be no children. (At least, she doesn’t think so-- she’s not sure if spirits can even have children.) She hasn’t even met him, not properly. And yet, they’re married. That knowledge has been carved onto her heart-- she knows the truth of it as well as she knows her own name. The Moon and the Ocean have been bound together since time immemorial. And she is the Moon now.

the fact that there are only FOUR yue x la fics on ao3 is a travesty!

YueLa - #48 - “I won’t hurt you.”
When Yue woke up, she was confused. Confused about where she was and why everything looked so… different.
The trees were different, the ground was different, the animals were different. Spirits, where was she? Did she wander too far from home and was now lost? Where could she have gone?
Then, it hit her. She wasn’t home, and physically, she’d never go home again.
She was a spirit now.
Fear crawled up her throat, making it hard to breathe. She was a spirit and she was alone and she left Sokka and she left her family—
“Hello, there.”
Yue jumped as she turned around to find a stranger. And yet, this stranger looked familiar. This stranger was handsome with a brilliant smile and a welcoming presence, but Yue didn’t speak to them. Where had they come from?
“I can see you’re a little nervous,” the stranger said. “And it’s understandable. A lot has happened in a short amount of time.”
She said nothing still, but her eyes followed the stranger as they slowly approached Yue.
“That was very brave what you did, Yue,” they said. “And I’m forever grateful for your human sacrifice. You did what most couldn’t, what most wouldn’t, and thanks to you, the world still has a moon.
“I know you’re scared, but it’s okay. I won’t hurt you.” The stranger smiled at Yue, and the fear that settled in her throat slowly but surely disappeared. So much had changed, and yet, with this stranger, she felt safer.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“My name is La,” they responded. “And I’d love to show you around the Spirit World if you’re feeling up to it.”
La reached out their hand, and for the first time since she entered the Spirit World, everything felt right.
And with a newfound sureness, Yue took La’s hand.

Send me asks about ATLA, or anything, really! :D
I did also recently reblog a prompt list, so feel free to send in one request!
