Yugande was revived and upgraded several times throughout the series: Yugande Relive (ユガンデ・リライブ; Yugande Riraibu), Yugande Strong (ユガンデ・ストロング; Yugande Sutorongu) and Burning Yugande (バーニングユガンデ; Baaningu Yugande). He once combined, against his will, with Guirail to form Giga Guirail (ギガギレール; Giga Gireeru).

Yugande Strong wielded the Dark Crisis (ダーククライシス) sword.

One romanization of the kanji "歪" is "yuga", which means "irregular" or "warped".

Yugande's voice actor, Hirotaka Suzuoki, passed away in 2006. Some of his most notable rules include Tatewaki Kunou (Ranma 1/2), Dragon Shiryuu (Saint Seiya), Hajime Saitou (Rurouni Kenshin) and Sakaki (Pokémon). Suzuoki was the official Japanese dub voice for Tom Cruise.
