Ecliptor and Darkonda gave such divorced dads. The way they were fighting over Astronema. And when they combined like hello are you perhaps GAY.

AND then as soon as Astronema dips and decides to become Karone again and Ecliptor follows her he’s like guess I’ve got no choice but to brainwash them!

Darkonda: I HATE both of you and I’m going to ruin your lives I know your still good and have no ties to evil whatsoever

Also Darkonda: Time to do some brain surgery so you’ll both be evil and never leave me again!

I will forever stick by the headcanon that the reason he kidnapped Karone was as a wedding present to Ecliptor and he’s like wtf is wrong with you and they fight Darkonda runs off and now Ecliptor is forced to raise this small child (however he ends up caring for her more than any other.

It also explains why he has it out for Andros because he’s trying to find Karone and he knows she will leave if she ever finds out the truth (and he knows Ecliptor will follow her!)

Once again, the creative teams at Boom really do some amazing stuff with the Power Rangers mythos and I know I'll probably continue to say that until I find one I don't like. I wish I had re-watched In Space before hand to refresh on Ecliptor's mannerisms, but I do remember him being like the honorable villain that was super faithful to Astronema. Seeing her dealing with years of her ass getting kicked and being the outcast of her child soldiers group was kind of meat because it felt like it reflected on her transition to Rangerhood years down the line.

Getting her full backstory was really fulfilling and it makes me wonder if her adoption by Dark Spector's empire is based solely on anti-Zordon propaganda or if there is another evil team of Rangers running around the universe.

FAVORITE: Seeing more Sentai-only teams getting wrapped into Ranger lore. I know the "Prism Rangers" made appearances throughout Super Mega Force, but it's cool to see that Boom decided to keep them around. Admittedly, we just see them getting dunked on but it's still a nice include.
