Well, I think I'll stick with the au where Sousuke is alive and the third mystery is Koyuki. Although I tried to do it differently, it somehow doesn't work. Continuing with the parti line ๐๏ธ๐๐๏ธ
Do you know what yugi78 is? The best idol group ๐ yugi78 agenda! It's Amatsukayukinene, haha. This quartet has very strong connections. Not to mention Hananene and Amakasa, who have it obvious, but Tsunene notes are definitely present in the plot, and the interactions between Hanayuki are just funny. They are two similar losers who bicker, but understand each other. Neneyuki is adorable, Nene is Koyuki's first crush, influencing her growth as a person. The girls will be friends, by the way, regardless of the circumstances, because if they both die, they'll be with Yugi, and if they both survive (and there's no other way), Nene will have another friend. This is important. All the girls around Nene die, and Aoi is busy with other things, so in the end, neither a meaningful friendship nor a meaningful yuri story emerges โ Neneyuki does it both.
Tsukayuki is a whole other story. All the Tsumitsu fanservice finally finds its place, because it's simply been unfairly forgotten. After all, it was all written canonically, and it was written beautifully. I brought Tsukasa's relationship with the third mystery to a parallel with Hananene, and it works even better. In this case, Kou gets his own development arc as an exorcist without any obsessions or downward spirals, because frankly, there are other characters for that, and I'm not really interested in watching him fall from grace. Sousuke is alive, lol, no one cares about him either, but this could be a good start to his personal arc. I don't think Soukou's point is that "Kou actually cared," but that Kou actually didn't care and how he overcomes it is the story. I think he has to save Sousuke from some kind of mess again, and only then will he become interested in him. Well, at least they're both alive and have something to do with it.
Overall, the plot, btw, deserves a smart rewrite, lol. And it should be done purely out of love for the story.
