Lud, zbunjen, normalan is a great comedy series that dissects the problems of the average man in Bosnia, and the Balkans in general... But sometimes it seems as if the people watching the series don't get the satirization of the characters, nor that this is a comedy of manners... Izet is awful all around - miserly, cruel, racist, homophobic, and sexually harasses his staff. The things he does and says are not funny in a relatable way, they are funny in a bitter, grotesque way. I often notice that when he says something funny or ridiculous people relate to him and find the jokes themselves hilarious, not the social implications of the jokes that are so revealing of the dynamics in our societies. The things he says are funny because they are ridiculous and hypocritical and senseless, not because they ring true.
