Yukichan (ユキチャン)
Yukichan (Kurofune x Shirayukihime)
Breed: Thoroughbred
Gender: Mare
I'm aware of "-chan" being an honorific suffix in Japanese, but it seems like it's an actual part of her registered name in her case! Not just people using that honorific because they think she's cute.
Yuki is probably one of the most well known Japanese names by outsiders, it means snow! Fitting perfectly with her white coat, which is just a white pattern covering her body entirely (not letting any of the "base" peak through). If you want to look more into her coat genetics, I recommend looking up W14, it's the name of the white spotting mutation she has. Perhaps because it's so well known that some might think of it as boring, but I'm 100% biased because I happen to be fond of the name "Yuki" and it's variations. Not to mention, she does have multiple horses in her lineage that either reference cold places or snow, so it also goes along with her linage!
Speaking of adorable, she literally has the honorific for things you find cute. Can't get any cuter than that!! In a way it feels like her name is a like "jr" version of her mother's name, though not in a way that they'd be confused for each other. But I just think that idea just makes it even more adorable!!
Final Verdict: 9/10, maybe simple to some but I think it's cute.
Alternate Name Suggestions: I don't have any suggestions because I don't speak Japanese, though it does seem like some Japanese-born Thoroughbreds are given English names sometimes.
