「流星☆グリーン」 —Midori isn’t necessarily somebody with his head always in the clouds, but he did space out rather often. Less because he was actually thinking about something, and more because he was just tired. Restless nights were plentiful before he had been forcefully moved to another universe entirely. Now that he had been, they were even worse. This, of course, attracts many problems. From simply bumping into people to responding to situations in a completely unacceptable way, he had been doing worse and worse as the days went past. Today, though, he was lucky.
Despite the loud noise of the crowd, he clearly heard it drop onto the pavement. Had he stepped on the item, he probably would have had to pay for it. Without a job, he had no money to spare, and was still living off of what the ‘scientists’ supplied him with upon arriving. The first year counted his blessings as he bent over to pick it up, walking a little bit faster to catch up to the one who he believed had dropped it in the first place.
Although all he had to say was ‘Here’s your phone,’ he couldn’t help but pause for a few seconds, rehearsing it in his mind. Midori probably wasn’t going to get over his fear of talking to strangers any time soon, but he might as well work on it. It’s not like he had a choice, anyways. After lightly touching the boy’s shoulder, he bent over, recognizing the significant height difference between them.
“This... um, you dropped this, right...?” Despite not even a second passing, he instantly felt anxious. What if he had the wrong person? He would surely be yelled at. Maybe he should have just left the phone there for somebody else to pick up...? He swallows thickly, forcing a small smile. There probably wasn’t much to worry about. After all, the other is way too small and probably too innocent to be able to do anything actually detrimental.
