Yukimiya Kenyu And Yo Hiori Moments In Manga

I love their interaction. The fact that these two happen to be in same team in the 1st selection(It was hinted in episode 11 of S1). They both had common things like having tragic background stories where Yukki had his eye conditions and Hiori had toxic parents. But in the end of the whole NEL arc, Isagi was the one who helps them to fight back the past and change themselves into the best version of themeselves. I love Hiori and Yukki's character development. Guess what? They both are my fav characters!:D

i like to think that iori brings out a softer, sweeter side of yuki, while yuki stays protective of her 💪

Events happened after this panel (My theory)

This scene took place after Kaiser said "You damn egoist."

He turned to face Yukimiya.

Kaiser: So, you've chosen Yoichi over me.

Yukimiya: Yeah. He's the one who awakened my ego.

Kaiser: As you said.

Kaiser let go of Isagi. Yukimiya rushed forward and caught him with a quick hug before he hit the ground.

Yukimiya: Why did you drop him like that?!

Kaiser: Since you chose him, you can take care of him. I’m done. Kenyu, you’ve chosen the wrong king. Don’t come crawling back when it all falls apart.

Noa: Kaiser, that was disrespectful.

Kaiser: I'm being realistic. You know what? Ness, let’s go.

Kaiser and Ness walked away.

Hiori, Kurona and the rest ran over to Yukimiya and Isagi.

Hiori: Seems like he pushed too hard on himself. I feel bad for Isagi...

Kurona: Will he be okay?

Yukimiya stared at Isagi who was lying on his lap.

Yukimiya: Hopefully...

Noa: He needs to rest. That’s the priority now.

Meanwhile, in the watch room…

Bachira, Otoya and other players watched the screen in silence. The moment Kaiser let go of Isagi replayed from different angles.

Bachira’s eye widened as he saw Isagi collapsing.

He took a step closer to the monitor.

Bachira: Isagi...

Otoya glanced at him, then gently placed a hand on Bachira’s shoulder.

Otoya: He’ll be alright. Yukki caught him in time.

Bachira didn’t respond right away. His fists were clenched at his sides.

Bachira: Yeah...Please be okay, egoist and crush that rose guy...

Blue Lock are giving Hiori and Yukimiya with Bachira and Chigiri's treatment in NEL (Omg! My Pretty Boys!)

1. Four of them had similar category on tragic backstories.

Bachira and Hiori- trauma from friends and family.

Bachira had to play with his imaginary friend called "the monster" as he had childhood trauma where his friends didn't like to play soccer with him. He also had trust issue when it comes to passing the ball to his team (that's Isagi's first mistake of passing the ball to his teammates before joining bllk)

Hiori also had trauma and trust issue like Bachira. All he had to do is to follow his parents expectations like forcing Hiori to be number one in soccer. Hiori got no freedom to live on his own life. He seriously had beef with his parents like he doesn't even wanna go home. Hiori can play soccer well but he still lacks desire to win.

Chigiri and Yukimiya-physical health condition/medical trauma.

Chigiri had a normal life when he was young. Everything was normal until one day he had a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) on his knee while playing the match which cause him to stop playing soccer. Ofc, he had a medical trauma that if he plays soccer again he might encounter another round of ACL injury.

Yukimiya even suffered the same thing like Chigiri. He also had a normal life where everyone admires him as a soccer player and a model. One day as he was walking with his friends, his eyes suddenly got tunnel vision and dark spot, making him unable to see anything. He suffered from optic neuropathy, causing him to stop pursuing his dream of playing soccer. Of course, he cried because he doesn't want to end his soccer career with his eye condition.

2. The way they treated Isagi.

Hiori and Chigiri will celebrate with Isagi like hopping on Isagi's back, giving a high five or even patting on his head. Sometimes, Isagi and these two help each other to get up. If anything happens to Isagi, Chigiri and Hiori will be the first one to step up.

Chigiri had a bad start with Isagi when both of them were in the footage room. Chigiri even mentioned that he cannot play soccer coz of his right ACL tear and Isagi kept asking him not to give up on it. The most painful thing Chigiri said to Isagi is "You know nothing about me". Ofc, Chigiri watched Isagi's training with team Z. Only in match 7, Isagi helps Chigiri to unlock his potential. Until second selection, Isagi even choose Chigiri instead of Kunigami and Reo. Sadly, Isagi's team lost to Rin so Isagi had to ditch Chigiri, Nagi and Barou. Chigiri even cared about Isagi from S1 and S2.

For example, in the end of S1, Shidou went to kick Isagi and Chigiri quickly uses his reflexes to grabbed Isagi down before he get hits (Followed by Bachira coming to punch Shidou). Ofc, Chigiri helped to Isagi get up after he fell down from failing to hug Rin.

Hiori and Isagi had a good term. I don't see any conflict between them. They are so healthy together. Hiori cares and helps Isagi in the match from S2 to NEL arc.

On the other hand, Hiori (together with Yukimiya) were concerned about Isagi at the start of NEL when he first encountered Kaiser. Also, Hiori was the one stopped the fight between Isagi and Yukimiya as he doesn't want both of them ended up fighting physically and get locked off at Blue Lock. Hiori will often check on Isagi during the training , during match and after the match. Hiori was so proud of Isagi whenever he wins. He even supports Isagi's decision.

Yukimiya and Bachira might have a bad start with Isagi.

For Bachira, Isagi was annoyed with Bachira saying, "There's a monster inside of me". He was annoyed when Bachira kept going to bathroom when they were looking for their room. At first, Isagi cannot handle Bachira's freakiness. Slowly as the season/manga chapter goes on, this two became close and often treat each other like bestie. They had a strong bond out of all bllk pairs. Bachira is green flag for Isagi tbh. He is also overprotective if anything happens to Isagi when it comes to Shidou or Kaiser & Ness.

For Yukimiya, just like Bachira they had a bad start. (I know in S2, Isagi and Yukimiya are like acquaintance). Yukimiya had beef with Isagi coz Noa chooses Isagi over him (despite scoring higher than Isagi for training) for 1st match. Noa chooses Isagi coz of U20 match incident and fan service. Yes, this two argued after the match. They both traumatised each other. They even argue in the middle of the 2nd match until Kaiser went to steal the ball from Isagi. That's where Isagi passed it to Yukimiya and he scored the last goal. Ofc, this two became friends and treated each other like brothers. The thing I saw about Yukimiya is him stepping up to defend Isagi especially when Isagi was about to collapse, Yukimiya was about to catch Isagi (instead Kaiser did his job) and Yukimiya even got mad at Chris for mocking on Isagi.

Both of them will give Isagi a high five and call him "egoist" as a nickname. They will also check on Isagi and make sure he wasn't left behind.

3. Character Development (with Isagi)

Hiori and Chigiri: At the start of bllk, Hiori and Chigiri seen as quiet and introvert character. Until, Isagi shows up, that's where their character development happens.

Chigiri: At first, he doesn't wanna play soccer he is afraid of having acl on his knee again. He was the only one who were standing on the field and doing nothing. Until, he met Isagi at the footage room. In 7th match in 1st selection, Chigiri was unable to decide so he stood there. Then, the ball went to Chigiri and he doesn't know what he'll do with the ball. Until...Isagi grabbed his shoulder, said "MOVE IT CHIGIRI" and pushed him away. That's where he unlocked his potential , breaking the chains from his leg and DAMN! He's too fast. In episode Nagi, Chigiri even use acrobat moves on Zantetsu and scored the goal. He impressed me tbh. In S2, Chigiri uses his fastest speed in both tryout and U20 match. It's faster than S1. Yes, he is slowly adapting and increasing his speed, leading to character development until the end of NEL arc. Chigiri managed to overcome his medical trauma and go back to the time when he loves playing soccer.

Like Chigiri went from having fast speed to fastest speed with red pather aura. I love my princess! SLAAAY!💕

Hiori: According to theory, he and Yukimiya happened to be in same team for 1st selection. He was quiet and Yukimiya was the only one who talked to him and team up with him in 2nd selection (until Karasu and Otoya steal Yukki from Hiori). In the light novel/ chap 233, Hiori became close with Karasu. However that time, Hiori didn't know what he wanted. In S2, Hiori seems like he had no issue making friends with Isagi and Nanase. Honestly, he even contributed in U20 match when Chigiri got subbed. ONLY in NEL arc is where his REAL character development happens. Like he sees his teammates having fun with playing soccer and he's the only one seated there at the corner until Isagi reached out to him. In match against Ubers, Noa underestimated Hiori because he is not interested in soccer and maybe his training score is low. Isagi convinced Noa that Hiori is capable of playing soccer. Yes, Hiori uses his metavision and analysis like Isagi. Hiori tries to score a score but failed, thinking that he will end his soccer career until Isagi appears. Yes, Hiori made an assist to Isagi and he score a goal.(with Yukimiya's help to pass the ball from Isagi to Hiori) There so many development in Hiori in both Ubers and PXG match. Hiori finally managed to find himself again thanks to Isagi.

Hiori went from snowflake aura to glass/breaking the lock aura. So proud of my baby sheep!💕

Bachira and Yukimiya: This two went from using normal virtualization/ style to killing their old selves with new and complicated style with master's inspiration. Ofc, Isagi was the one helped this two to break the shells.

Bachira: At first, Bachira always depends on the voice of the monster and monster tells him to pass the ball to Isagi. Until when Rin appears that's where everything has changed. In the last match in 2nd selection, Bachira was forced to give up on his imaginary friend, monster and find his ego as he saw Isagi and Rin reaching their ego. In U20 match, we can see that Bachira was close to scoring a goal but Sendo blocked it (same person who blocked Hiori from scoring the goal in NEL arc). There is so many character development in U20 arc, he is creating new version of himself. Bachira even act so daring unlike his teammates and tell his own master Lavinho that Noa is the best striker. Lavinho even taught Bachira on using freedom and creativity to create an image. Yes, Bachira combined both Lavinho's inspiration and his OG Virtualisation, monster. Isagi pointed out that Bachira became mature and his dribbling skills improved a lot compared to Bachira (from S1 & S2) were he was acting childish and he do whatever he wants. His dribble style is also unique. Trust me, stealing the last goal from Nagi was peak (even though I feel bad for Nagi and he deserves to score the last goal). Bachira finally managed to become mature and overcome his childhood trauma.

Bachira went from monster aura to bee aura. So happy for my baby bee!💕

Yukimiya: At first, he was confident and soft in S2. His playstyle was impressive and interesting. Just like Bachira, Yukimiya was close to scoring the goal in U20 match but Aiku blocked him.(Chris also blocked him in NEL). In NEL arc, Yukimiya went from soft to rude. Isagi and Kaiser described him as envy since Yukimiya cannot get what Isagi have. He also realized his normal gyro shot from S2 is not strong enough to score the goal in match against Manshine City match . So he really had to go through so many traumas plus Isagi and Kaiser's words ( Yukimiya almost had PTSD) causing him to lose focus. Luckily, Isagi passed the ball to Yukimiya to score the goal and Yukimiya quickly gave a sharp, complex and new shot called sword screw. Yes, he mentioned that sword screw is a combination of his own gyro shot and inspired by Chris shot just like Bachira. Even his dribbling is faster than S2 like he can dribble past to 6 players. That's crazy! Btw, he even used his predator eyes for one time to score the goal(but failed). Honestly, I wanted to see Yukimiya using more Predator eyes in U20 world cup (same goes for Chigiri in using his acrobatic moves). Even though, Yukimiya had eye issues which didn't stop him from playing soccer. His character development was the one impressed me the MOST. Just like Bachira, he isn't afraid of confrontation and standing up for himself especially to high authority like Chris and Ego.

Yukimiya went from street style aura to sword screw aura. So proud of my baby penguin!💕

4. Both of them had chemical reactions (Bachira and Chigiri, Hiori and Yukimiya)

Bachira and Chigiri: This two are like underrated duo. I honestly wanted more moments with this two. I realized in S1 and S2, Bachira and Chigiri are just friends. They mostly interacted with Isagi but not with each other. Only, in additional time, while half of the team Z playing games, that's where Bachira was lifting Chigiri's hands up for intimidating Ego accurately. I think at chap 150, Chigiri and Bachira were waiting for Isagi. I feel like both Chigiri and Bachira interacted on off screen while waiting for Isagi. They also interacted after the arcade together with Nagi on off-screen. Hopefully, we will see more Chigiri interacting with Bachira in U20 World Cup.

Yukimiya and Hiori: This two started to interact in NEL arc. There was a claim that this two also interacted before in both 1st and 2nd selection. I love their dynamics throughout the whole NEL arc. They even passed the ball to each other and create chemical reaction. I love how this two carried the last 2 match together with Isagi and Kurona. The fact that Hiori and Yukimiya complimented each other's playstyle, making it green flag duo. Even this two appeared in Ego's analogy in chap 309. So proud of them! I would love to see this two playing on the same match together with Karasu, Kurona, Otoya and Isagi. I really love their bonds. Tbh, this two were close since they interacted a lot.

Event happens after Karasu and Otoya's team losing to Nagi's team...

Karasu: I can’t believe we lost to that guy.

Otoya: At least he didn’t steal you from me.

Karasu: Heh. Soft-hearted jerk.

Karasu and Otoya’s team entered the field for the second-to-last match of the Second Selection. To their surprise, they saw Yukimiya and Hiori’s team.

Karasu: Hiori...

Hiori: Karasu...

Otoya pointed at Hiori.

Otoya: Who’s that?

Karasu: Just a mediocre guy I met a long time ago.

Yukimiya turned to Hiori.

Yukimiya: You know him?

Hiori: Yeah, that’s Karasu. We played on the same youth soccer team back in high school.

Otoya stepped in front of Yukimiya and Hiori, turning toward Hiori.

Otoya: Well, well, well. I was thinking after the match, how about you and me go out?

Yukimiya looked confused. Karasu hit Otoya on the head.

Karasu: Hiori’s not a girl, you creep!

Karasu then turned to Yukimiya, then back at Hiori.

Karasu: So, you and your mediocre buddy think you’re gonna beat us, huh?

Yukimiya: You bet. We will beat you.

Karasu: We’ll see about that, Mr. Goggle Guy.

The Match begins. Otoya scored the first goal. Karasu followed with the second.

Hiori: Looks like we’re gonna lose to them… They’re moving like ninja and assassin.

Yukimiya: Ninja and assassin moves, huh? I’m sure we can score if I show you my 1v1 Emperor.

Hiori: What do you mean?

Yukimiya: Lemme show you.

Yukimiya dribbled past Otoya and Karasu. Karasu couldn’t keep up with his speed. Yukimiya scored the first goal for his team.

Yukimiya: See, Hiori? That’s how you score a goal.

Hiori: That was amazing...

Otoya: Not bad.

Karasu: Tsk. He’s fast, but we’re not letting you score again, Mr. Goggle Guy.

Yukimiya: Be my guest, Karasu.

Hiori scored the second goal. Otoya scored the third. Yukimiya scored third goal. Otoya tied it up at four.

For the final goal, Hiori tried to block Karasu physically.

Hiori: I won’t let you score the last goal, you assassin.

Karasu: Aww... Shouldn’t you be at home playing your stupid video games?

Hiori: Not today.

Hiori gave it his all to stop Karasu but Karasu still managed to break through and score the winning goal.

Final Score: 5–4

Announcement: Team Red wins!

Hiori stood frozen. Karasu and Otoya celebrated. Karasu looked back at Hiori and Yukimiya.

Karasu: Thanks a lot, mediocre. Watching you two lose was so fun.

Hiori and Yukimiya fell to their knees.

Hiori: I’m sorry, Yukki… We didn’t win.

Yukimiya: It’s okay, Hiori. I guess that was our last shot. But I wonder... who will Karasu pick?

They looked toward Karasu and Otoya with worried face.

Otoya: So, who are we picking?

Karasu stared at both Yukimiya and Hiori, visibly conflicted.

Otoya: How about we choose that snowflake?

Karasu glanced at Yukimiya, then shifted his gaze to Hiori who was quietly staring back at him, eyes filled with a mixture of hope and fear.

Karasu: I wanted to choose Hiori but...

Karasu took a deep breath, then pointed at Yukimiya.

Karasu: Mr. Goggle Guy, come with us.

Yukimiya was shocked but then smiled.

Yukimiya: It’s a pleasure.

But he looked back at Hiori, concerned.

Yukimiya: Hiori, I’m sorry... We didn’t both make it.

Hiori: It’s okay, Yukki. Go on without me.

Yukimiya gave a weak smile.

Yukimiya: Hopefully, you can survive the final match of the Second Selection. I’m counting on you...

Yukimiya stood and walked toward Karasu and Otoya. The three of them walked through the winner’s gate. Karasu paused and looked back at Hiori, who was still on the ground.

Karasu: You haven’t changed, Hiori. Still the same person.

Hiori kept his eyes down.

Karasu: Well, try harder next time if you don’t wanna get kicked out.

Karasu gave a small smirk before he walked away. Hiori stared at the grass beneath him, having lost both the match and Yukimiya as a teammate. Slowly, he stood up and walked toward the loser’s gate.

Hiori: Try harder...huh.

(Note- I'm not sure about the match part on who use which skills. All I know is Yukki and Hiori's team losing to Karasu and Otoya's team. Otoya and Karasu taking Yukki from Hiori based on the hints given in S1Ep24. Hiori worked hard and managed to pass 2nd selection as well!:) )

Take 1

Yukimiya & Isagi: Director! Who won??

Director: Uh… I’d say… Hiori.

Hiori sticks out his tongue.

Hiori: Hehe, I won.

Yukimiya: HOW DARE YOU!

Isagi: You stole the spotlight!

Hiori: Yeah, losers.

There was a silence.

Yukimiya & Isagi: What did you say?

Hiori runs away. Isagi chases after him.

Isagi: COME BACK HERE, YOU ULTRASADISH—!! … I mean ULTRASADIST!! Stupid… ultra–whatever!!

Hiori: HAHA, even you can't say that word, dumbass!

Hiori laughs as he runs.

Take 2

Yukimiya: I will fight and die before I lose my sight!

Isagi: So… you wanna go blind, huh?

Yukimiya: What the fu— WHO WROTE THIS SCRIPT?!

Hiori’s sipping a Yakult with a peace sign.

Hiori: Me.

Yukimiya snatches the Yakult from him and throws it in the trash.

Hiori: HEYYY! That was limited edition peach flavour!!

Yukimiya: Too bad, snowflake.

Isagi is dying of laughter.

Take 3

Isagi: You— oh shoot…

Yukimiya: Did you just forget your lines, Isagi?

Isagi: Yeah... My bad.

Hiori dances in front of them. Isagi and Yukimiya notices his dance.

Hiori: Oh ya, I’m an Egoist who is forgetful! La la la LAAAAAAAAA!

Yukimiya and Isagi copies Hiori’s dance. Hiori looks back. Three of them started laughing.

Take 4

Hiori suddenly jumps in between them.

Hiori: STOP FIGHTING AND MOVEEE IT!!

Hiori froze like statue.

Isagi and Yukimiya tries to keep straight faces and starts blowing air at Hiori’s hair.

Isagi: Whoa… it’s like cotton candy.

Hiori slaps Isagi hard on the shoulder.

Hiori: COTTON CANDY?!

Yukimiya bursts out laughing, Isagi wheezes and Hiori can’t hold it in either. The three collapse into laughter.

Take 5 As the argument ends, Yukimiya and Isagi improvise a reconciliation.

Isagi: Wait, wait, wait… why are we even fighting over a goal?

Yukimiya: It doesn’t even make sense tho.

Isagi: Yukki… please don’t take it to heart. I’m so sorry.

He places his hand on Yukimiya’s shoulder.

Yukimiya: I forgive you and I’m sorry too.

They stared at each other dramatically.

Hiori: HEY, LOVE BIRDS! Just kiss already!

Hiori makes a heart shape with his hands.

Isagi: YOU ULTRASADIST! Oh, I finally got it right.

Yukimiya: You dumbass little snowflake!

Yukimiya sticks out his tongue.

Isagi: Oh my gosh, Yukki. I didn’t know you’re freaky.

Hiori: Omg, I know right. Why did you hide this from us, Yukki?

Yukimiya: Why not?

Three of them smile at each other and laugh.
