So I've noticed in a few of your Yule Hasbands (I'm fragging obsessed now thank you so much, I fragging love them🤩), that you've mentioned that North sometimes goes into a 'Haze'. Can you please elaborate on that? Like, what sends him into a Haze? How does this affect him? What does a Haze entail exactly? Is this normal for him? Does it harm him in any way, shape or form? Do the other Guardians know about them? Is Krampus the only one who can snap him out of them? If not, how do the others do it?

Krampus had said that he almost lost his Center, would he lose it permanently? How would the other Guardians react if they saw Krampus at the Pole only to find that he's breaking North's Haze?

I'm really sorry for throwing this all at you, feel free to ignore this. I've just been thinking about it for a while, and am wondering about your thoughts on it.

Was I projecting when I wrote that? Maaaaybe. Think of it when you get super engrossed or fixated on something, and you accidentally start neglecting things around you.

North is very guilty of getting tunnel vision and forgetting to take care of himself. His center, his power even, wouldn't be at its best if he didn't take care of himself. It is very common for others to check in on him as December approaches.

Not to worry, he has a very good support network. Knecht Ruprecht, Jack Frost, and Krampus usually keep a close eye on him. If they are preoccupied, the Christmas Spider watches while it works on decorations. Sometimes, the others chip in to relieve some of the pressure.

The other guardians are very aware of it and dedicate time to check on him as well between their duties. All of them have struggled with it, so they can tell if North is trying to hide it from anyone. Not like he would every time, but he had tried in the past.

As for if they see Krampus, it depends. Katherine, Ombric and Sandy already know about their relationship. Tooth and Aster..might need an explanation as to why North is being carried like a sleepy bride.

Thats why Krampus makes sure North attends the various parades on the 4th so he can just get one day off before the work rush begins. Mental health breaks are vital for guardians so they can keep their centers in tip top shape.

Krampus waking up: North, next to him on the bed: morning, how’d you sleep last night? Krampus: What the hell!? *pushes North off the bed* What were you doing in my bed? You were supposed to sleep on the air mattress on the floor! North: I had a nightmare Krampus: You had a nightmare? What are you, 5 years old? North: Listen, I needed to feel comfortable and I was getting this perverse power dynamic vibe from me sleeping on the ground and you sleeping up there- Krampus: Why yes! How high and mighty I am up on my twin Xl! North: That is not what I meant- Krampus: Silence, in the presence of your king! Who sleeps a lofty 12.5 inches above the ground. North: Listen, I’m not ashamed. I slept comfortably when I got up into your bed, and I’m sure you did too. Krampus: Yeah, ok. North: Y’know what? I wanna know, how’d you sleep last night? Krampus, sighing: That was the best I’ve slept in a while- North, gasping: The king slept comfortably with a peasant in his bed! Krampus: I did not consent to this- North: But my liege, our love is forbidden!

(I know this is in their enemies phase, so they wouldn’t be sleeping in a room together. However, I still thought this would be fun to make.)

North snorted a laugh. "Promises, promises. Now help me with my sleigh."

"You don't need help."

North smiled. "That's not the point."

Sry for the spam about Krampus, he’s just my favorite Yule spirit. But do you got any headcanons about his backstory? Like who he was before he became a Yule spirit and he met north.

As for his backstory, there aren't many like him (species wise) so its probably an Aster situation. Though hes young in comparison. He found himself one day in the cold mountains of Europe and walked until he found some semblance of civilization. Humans didn't see him of course but nature spirits kind of took him under their wing. Teaching him how to survive the cold, blend in with the light and shadows and how to fend for himself.

He grew resentful towards children who were ungrateful for what they had while he had nothing. Thus, he began a campaign to punish the naughty children. His earliest methods..were out of pocket I'll admit that. It caught the attention of jolly St.Nicholas and he was dispatched to the area Krampus was in.

They fought long and hard but came to an agreement since Krampus only came out during December to punish children. He loosened his methods and walked alongside North during their festivities. They'd play fight for the childrens amusement, walk the parades and take shifts together on Krampusnacht and Yule/Christmas.

They grew closer but kept it a secret as they were unsure of the others feelings. to each other after North needed help raising a child he found. (Knecht Ruprecht, german xmas spirit)

Because I missed Krampusnacht(December 5th) and St Nicholas Day(December 6th) heres a late Krampus n North hc post 👉👉

Krampus does have a disguise form that makes him resemble a human, but the lack of horns makes that form fall out of favor with North. Krampus teases North on occassion about it but North knows what hes about.

North actually loves how many holidays take place in his season. He likes to check on North Pole citizens and see their differing holidays from their own religions. He's even helped repair a few family holiday heirlooms for them when it appeared they weren't going to last much longer. He's very respectful towards those holidays and even participated in some years ago.

North has also woven prayer rugs for citizens of muslim faith. Tooth helped him with making Hijabs and other head coverings.

Krampus regularly attends North's feast on December 6th. The citizens of the north pole have become accustomed to the sight of him and know he isn't there to harm anyone.

One of their favorite passtimes is sitting together n watching corny/bad horror movies. Krampus just enjoys the campiness and North laughs at the pathetic attempts at jumpscares.

North finds it adorable how Krampus has a soft spot for smaller children. He tends to try not to scare them despite it happening anyway. It can take the wind out of his sail before North comes to his rescue.

Krampus has a high resistance to the cold, since he lives in The Matterhorn, but still decides to wear clothes anyway. At most he can be seen wearing a robe similar to North's but in a darker shade of red. He's only started wearing it in the last hundred years or so and he gives a different answer everytime someone asks him why he wears it.

Krampus does in fact have a long tongue that traditional pieces depicted him with. North gets a little rosey faced if Krampus is sticking it out at him, nobody questions it or they just refuse to acknowledge it.

They take turns who is what spoon but nine times out of ten they wake up back to back or one on the cold floor bc too much body heat. The price of both partners having similar bear-esque body types.

Like North, Krampus can be very good at making hand crafted things. He doesn't make toys but rather little accessories for himself or his followers to wear such as rings, chains, costumes etc. He usually makes North's costumes for the Krampusnacht parades and in return North makes him new sacks to carry switches and fake children in.

Krampus is often North's impulse control or somehow the one on standby quietly filming just in case it makes for a funny memory. The guardians are thankful for that because North can be TOO extra sometimes and needs to be dialed back every now and then.

They do have pet names for each other. Its usually; "Nicky, Kholey, St.Klaus," and "Kram-Bam and Kramp." They are mostly used when they are by themselves or if they're around the other yule spirits.

If North is blasting xmas music, Krampus is the one who slowly keeps turning the volume down until its comoletely off. He can only take so many covers of Last Christmas and Mariah Carey before he's gonna break something.

Despite him slightly joking about how dadly North is, Krampus is not immune to adopting someone or becoming a father figure to someone. Jack can attest to it with a story how after their first year of knowing each other, Krampus made him a new pair of pants.

North and Krampus headcanons/lore

Krampus was always called “The shadow of St.Nick”, but he for sure existed before North ascended to his legendary figure status. They became aware of each other on Krampusnacht(Krampus Night), on the 5th of December. North saw the large goat-like demon man terrorizing children and intervened. Each year since they butted heads on Krampusnacht but left each other alone on December 6th( The Feast of St.Nicholas ). Over time, they saw greeting cards(Krampuskarten) that people made of them and found it quite humorous. Of course North loved to make fun of how humans made him look like a devil but Krampus couldn’t ignore a certain vibe the cards had when depicting the both of them

With the creation of the Krampuslauf (A parade that takes place on Krampusnacht where people dress up as Krampus or St Nick.) North found it interesting enough to actually participate with Krampus, if he didn’t actually harm anyone during the parade. They found themselves having bundles of fun marching through the Alpine region together with the humans dressed like them.

Each year that passed with them joining together for festivities,they started seeing each other more like friendly rivals rather than enemies. North didn’t approve of what Krampus did to children so Krampus tried to find a compromise. It was extremely frustrating because Krampus did not fear MIM or the other guardians one bit, North was the only one he genuinely cared about. North even found small gifts on Christmas, that Krampus made for him. The first gift he ever made was a bronze bracelet that had carvings and braids that reminded North of ancient germanic jewelry. Naturally, this made a tradition between the two to secretly leave each other small gifts each year before the year’s end.

Pitch has teamed up with Krampus on occasion on his holiday to scare children/punish the naughty children. Krampus didn’t participate in plots Pitch had to overthrow the guardians however. He saw too much value in the balance of things and refused to try to take North’s spot or holiday. Pitch respected Krampus too much to insult the entity, so he silently assists Krampus each Krampusnacht after Krampus breaks away from the parades.

Pitch slowly became more and more aware of Krampus and North’s odd relationship. He assumed they were “frenenemies” and found it hypocritical that North respected ‘his shadow’ and tried to stop Pitch’s handiwork. (Krampus didn’t try to do half the things Pitch did but go off Pitch.)

It wasn’t until he accidentally caught them sharing a peculiar embrace, that he learned the true nature of their bond. Despite having ammunition against the two, Pitch kept a tight lip out of respect for his ally, not for North’s sake.

Krampus and North share an interesting relationship in modern day, where North tries his best to keep it hidden from his fellow guardians as best he can. For what would they think of him doing more than just fraternize with his holiday rival?
