Peter and Jack were competing for an internship at Oscorp. Wade, who was impersonating Peter at the time, told Osborn Jack was a drug addict, ruining Jack’s chances at getting the internship and prompting him to turn to alcohol. But Weasel doesn’t know it was Wade all along, so he would blame Peter.
