Catboy nonny gonna pretend I’m still anonymous to ALL our beloved readers of this little ask. All of them.
So like, domestic cats can’t recognize themselves in mirrors. Thoughts?
(Setting this in modern day for one specific reason)
‘Let’s take Desmond to a house of mirrors.’
‘It’ll be fun.’
“Desmond!”
“Desmond!”
Oh, they were definitely having fun now.
Shaun knew something was wrong when Layla Hassan suggested they check out the house of mirrors in this carnival that was, thankfully, closed at the moment.
Rebecca had agreed because it did sound fun.
Desmond and Shaun just went along with them because it wasn’t like they had any other plans for today.
They only checked out the perimeter of the carnival because it was close to the Abstergo facility they were planning to hit tomorrow.
Going to the house of mirrors was meant to be a relaxing thing they could do before they get back to their safe house and start planning routes and contingencies for tomorrow’s operation.
At least, it was supposed to be relaxing.
“Desmond!”
“Desmond!”
“Desmond!”
All three of them shouted. They could see Desmond dart from one mirror to another but they don’t know which was truly a reflection and which ones weren’t.
Desmond seemed to have been controlled by his feline instincts.
And his feline instincts kept telling him to charge every mirror he sees.
Thankfully, he didn’t charge them with enough force to destroy them.
Unfortunately, that meant that they had to check every Desmond they saw.
And this was harder than it had to be because…
Desmond. Won’t. Stay. Still.
“I’m going to kill you once we get Desmond!” Shaun threatened Layla as he tapped another Desmond, only to find, yeah, it was another mirror damn it.
Wasn’t carnival mirrors meant to be cheap and more for laugh and the sheer absurdity of some of the warped reflections?
Why was this entire building made of really clear mirrors?!
“I didn’t know he’d act this way! I just thought he would freak out!” Layla tried to argue.
“Oh, he freaked out, that’s undeniable.” Shaun grumbled before shouting, “But you freaked out a cat… man-”
There was no way he was going to call Desmond ‘catboy’, no matter how many times Layla and Rebecca insisted he was, in fact, a catboy.
“- with the skills of three Master Assassins!”
“I’m sorry, okay?!”
“Apologize by finding Desmond!”
“Both of you, shut up, and focus on finding Desmond!”
.
They found Desmond.
… thirty minutes before the carnival opened.
