While shining in sweat from sparring with Shiro, Keith didn’t know what hit him. It could have been just the curve of Shiro’s jaw when he rolled his neck in a slow circle to stretch or the droplet of sweat that dripped from it. Maybe it was the glow of reddened skin that flushed in the heat of pumping blood and the furious fight of sparring. If he thought about it, the sound of air heaving from Shiro’s lungs was doing it for him too. That, and the wicked, happy grin Shiro wore as he circled Keith, ready to pounce again.

Keith quickly wiped his forehead on the sleeve of his shirt and let out a breath.

God, Shiro was so hot like this. The worst part was he didn’t even know it.

In a moment of quick thinking, Keith lunged at him, quickly grappling his center and brought him down. But Shiro was faster than he was. In a flash of lightning, the air whooshed from his lungs as his back his the floor with a thud. Shiro’s face was inches from his.

He laughed, his voice was gravel,“You’re way too obvious.”

Keith couldn’t move, couldn’t even complain that he’d lost again. Shiro had quickly adapted to his new arm and though they were both severely holding back, Shiro still beat him every time. Even when he upped the skill level at the last second, Shiro was quick to counteract.

His chest heaved to catch his breath and Shiro’s eyes darted down to his mouth for a split second, still hovering over him with Keith’s arm in his grasp.

“Fine…” Keith let his head hit the floor, “I give up.”

Shiro chuckled and slowly released his grip, but Keith used it to flip Shiro onto his back and pin his arms above his head.

“Cheater,” but Shiro grinned.

Keith leaned in and spoke low where he knows Shiro will feel his breath on his skin, “It’s not cheating. It’s fighting smart.”

Shiro immediately struggled against him, and Keith decided to play dirty. He knew that if anything, he could surprise Shiro enough to distract him so he could keep the upper hand.

He leaned down to sink his teeth into Shiro’s neck, and the reaction was perfectly on point. He was surprised for sure, but Keith never expected the low, rumbling moan from Shiro’s mouth.

They both froze. Keith didn’t move, only released Shiro’s skin from his teeth and tilted his head to the side. Shiro’s face was redder than before, and his eyes were slightly hazy.

“Shiro…” ‘why did you fucking moan like that?’ Keith wanted to ask, but didn’t. Because he knew why, felt his own body reacting with the heat of it.

And Shiro didn’t fight against him, so he closed his teeth around another patch of skin, slower this time, more deliberate.

Again, Shiro moaned, quieter this time and completely relaxed under him. The taste of salt on his tongue made his mouth water.

There was a wall that was being broken, torn down between them. A wall that over time had thinned and cracked, but never wavered until now. It was shattering into little shards at his feel, and Keith felt the sudden absence of it like fire in his blood.

“Sorry… You can forgive me later,” Keith murmured before finally kissing Shiro’s lips.

But Shiro responded, weakly at first, like the idea of what was happening was intangible, until Keith parted Shiro’s lips with his tongue and dipped into his mouth. Keith felt the incredible strength of Shiro’s body press against him and up until Keith was sitting, straddling Shiro’s lap, and Shiro’s hands were on his face.

The breath rushed from their lungs when their mouths parted just enough to keep their heads above water. Keith had never felt something so blatantly good and satisfying in all of his life. Shiro held his face as they kissed, blood rushing like a tidal wave in their veins. Keith broke apart from his mouth and leaned his forehead against Shiro’s.

They struggled to catch their breath before Keith let out a quiet laugh, “I win.”

Shiro grinned and flipped Keith over onto his back, his wrists pinned to the floor under Shiro’s new hand. His human hand ran itself up over Keith’s heaving chest and caressed the skin on his neck.

He wanted to lean up, to catch Shiro’s mouth again. To bite his lip between his teeth and moan from the taste, but Shiro was looking at him like a dove.

“If that’s what will help you sleep at night.”

Shiro kissed him lightly, as if he had finally come to his senses. Like his resolve was firm in the fact that they were finally kissing each other, and he was going to enjoy every second of it.

“I bet you could help me sleep at night,” Keith whispered against his lips.

He smirked when red bloomed again over Shiro’s cheekbones and he hid his face in Keith’s neck. This time it was Keith’s turn to moan when Shiro latched onto his neck and purpled the blood vessels beneath the skin.

To Die as Lovers May by @goth-mabel inspired this fanart by @13bels, and I haven’t read this series of cis-swapped fics, but @13bels describes it: “very thoughtfully written, drama-filled as our vampires are known to be, and an engaging read, if it’s your cup of tea! I imagined human Armand smoking on a bench somewhere right before sunset, thinking about Daniel. I also see Armand being drawn to punk culture, so I gave him a leather jacket.

I checked your tags and didn't see anything for "first time." Do you have any recommendations for that? I usually gravitate towards top Shiro, but I wouldn't mind the other way either. Preferably explicit. Thank you for the amazing work you do and I'm sorry if this has been asked before!
