Bayonetta 2 Director Reveals Concept Art by Tatsuya Yoshikawa for Unannounced Project https://nichegamer.com/2019/09/24/bayonetta-2-director-reveals-concept-art-by-tatsuya-yoshikawa-for-unannounced-project/
The spectacle of abilities that the player can use in Bayonetta 2 ensure that the player, even if they’re having difficulties, always feels as if they’re carrying out impressive maneuvers. Where this comes to a head, however, is the Umbran Climax, which allows the player, upon completely filling their magic gauge, to unleash a flurry of attacks with increased damage and range. This ensures both a reward for consistent combat prowess on the player’s part, as well as giving a grand finale to many fights.
Bayonetta 2 Director Yusuke Hashimoto Leaves Platinum Games https://nichegamer.com/2019/02/14/bayonetta-2-director-yusuke-hashimoto-leaves-platinum-games/
Yusuke Hashimoto drew this new illustration for the countdown to the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Literally Nintendo and GameFreak were like, "Most Pokémon games were easy to appeal to the younger audience", but all these new remakes (Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, etc.) Are really difficult even for a veteran player like me... Nintendo needs to slap Platinum Games and tell them to make Bayonetta 3 difficult instead of making it another walk in the park like Bayonetta 2 was. Bayonetta was much more fun despite the QTEs, and Bayonetta 2 was fun, but it was... too easy.
You’re right, well half right.
As much as I like to blame it on Nintendo, it’s clearly Hashimoto’s decisions. He took critique of the first game too literally aka hard difficulty, too much focused character game instead of story focused game, penatly for items and etc.
Like, the big reason, why it’s like this because Hashimoto/Kamiya has that kind of love-hate relationship. If you watch “making Bayonetta” series, you can see that some of stuff that made in the final game, was Kamiya stubborn decisions and clear intensions because he wanted to imporve on DMC and make female character game, very badly and because his glasses fetish lel.
And ye, in bayo2, he was supervisor and writer, he’s wasn’t in control unfortanetly. At least I believe so.
