I had so much fun with this silly little drawing from last night's boop war and thought it deserved a post of its own. A certain thief got carried away. I imagine the follow up would be the entire squad pouncing on him in retaliation.

Now this is a real throwback, to 2017! I was just getting back into art after some life stuff happened and when I first got back into Yugioh. I never posted this from the sketchbook because it was based on a little fanfic idea a friend and I came up with. I still have the whole plot somewhere as well as the beginning chapters. This just reminded me of its existence! I have some new ideas on how to approach the plot so I may pick it up again soon. For now, enjoy the cute art.

@mutogamingco With a little 'mrrp' he circles around him. There is no reply to Atem's calls. Yuugi trots to the bedroom, looking back to see if he's following with bright amethyst eyes. The red and black fur should give him away if the yellow streak on his forehead doesn't.

Not hearing Yugi reply, Atemu stopped just in front of the cat, who started to circle him, after a moment the cat headed towards his and Yugi’s room. “Odd.” He quirked a brow. He then noticed the bright amethyst eyes and the color the cat was...

“Aibou?” His jaw dropped and he got to on his knees, holding his hand out to the cat. “Is that you?”

The natural instincts of a cat were difficult to resist, and Yuugi found himself giving that hand an enthusiastic headbutt, arching his back into the touch that followed. He caught the change in expression, and his purring turned into a quiet chirp at the question.

Well, I guess if you want to call it that, yes!

The relief that washed over him only lasted a moment, before it was replaced by annoyance. Of course he would find this funny. He hoped his expression came off as the biggest pout.

Anyone who knows me knows I can’t help but design animal versions of characters. I’ve had a design for Yuugi as a cat since I was about 13 so here he is! I used this as a test for a new technique with linework and it turned out so nice I’m definitely using it now as a regular part of my art process. 

Anyone who follows my rp blog has probably seen this before as I’d posted it there first but for some reason forgot my art blog was a thing.

[swiftmaidensmoonchild] [SMS] Hey Joey? I know it’s kind of a long shot, but do you think Yugi maaaybe might have some particularly crazy fans? I mean, who dyes a cat’s fur? Because this cat either has a HIGHLY improbable set of mutations, or it’s being abused, potentially. They don’t have animal-safe hair dye, do they?

[SMS] But on the other hand, the fur SEEMS perfectly normal... animal-safe hair gel is also really improbable... I mean, we’ve seen weird supernatural shit before, but not on the level of changing a being’s SPECIES. I suspect either the owner’s super weird, or we’re looking at YUGI! Maybe show him Yugi’s deck, just in case? Does he still HAVE his deck? Do we even know where it is? Do you think a picture of Silent Magician or Gandora (is that how you spell it??) or something will work? Feel free to ignore this, it’s super late and I’m tired. This might just be a madwoman’s ramblings...
