I M U R has been on our radar since day one with their release of Slow Dive a few months back and we scooped a vibey mix from them for this months second YuuungMix installation! As many of you may know, the duo recently released a new vibe titled “Blue Dream” featuring Tee Krispil which they featured at 9:15 in the mix. The track really spoke to us and showed us a side of I M U R that we hadn’t heard before and opened us up to the sounds of Tee Krispil who brought bars on this one. To kick off 2016 in style YM2 is back and hosted by none other than Dave Fields. We’re very choosy on who we bring on for our Yuuung mixes because we aim to showcase artists who haven’t hit their tipping point yet but influence the communities they come from and Dave met that criteria. After emerging on the Vancouver circuit earlier in 2015 we’ve seen and heard Dave grow into a seasoned producer and vocalist on his path to releasing his debut album which is set to release anytime now. Make sure to scrape a couple dollars and see the young MC perform at WinnieCooper&Friends on January 29th at Fortune Sound Club along with other local cats.

Local synth hero TASTELESSRED is back with his interpretation of LADYFRND’s Geist off of their latest EP Farewell. TASTELESSRED has been steadily progressing since we caught wind of him and this track is by far his most refined work to date! Vancouver MC Vials just released Chrysalis and it’s way heavier than we could have imagined. (S/O Wettworker for the huge production on the project). Chrysalis is one of those projects that shows the potential of west coast music and how artists are starting to show that heavier underground sound Vancouver has to offer. Vials brings bars, y’all better look out for her cause we see some potential.

#MRWONDERFUL just hit us with his new visuals for Actin Crazy!!! We recommend smoking a J and getting a bowl of cereal for this one, finally we get to watch Action hit the splits. His album drops 3/24 so watch out for that.

We here at Yuuung only recently stumbled upon Silk Rhodes and damn.....this is some silky shit. Stuck in my head is one of those songs you play when the lights get low and you need to hear something low-key yet meaningful. The production is nothing short of dreamy and the lyrics are well written to give an all around excellent performance. A MUST LISTEN!!

We were speechless when we saw Kaytranada and Vic Mensa had a song together but shit...it's 2015 and anything can happen. Vic tears up his verse and keeps the flow on lock while Kaytranada slaps bass and slays another classic. The guitar solo definitely stood out along with tthat smooth ass hook. Thank based god we get to hear this in our lifetime.
