・゚✧ 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒏'𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 to draw cheonsa’s name as her secret gift recipient, but perhaps it’s just blind luck that there’s no one else that she’d rather make a present for. after all, they often meet up to allow their children to share in a play date, even if nabi is much younger than his daughter. she has high hopes that they’ll grow up to be close friends; that they’re forging a bond that’s unbreakable even as time passes. that’s why it’s the first time she picks up a brush in practically a year, because there’s something beautiful about the bond their daughters are making and she hopes that he can see it, too.
it takes a few weeks before she’s completed, but the paint finally settles and dries on a scene of their daughters playing in one of yangwon’s rolling fields of grass and flowers. with little time to spare, considering jiae’s busy schedule taking care of nabi and the numerous art blocks she suffered throughout trying to complete it - in the end, she thinks it’s a beautiful portrait of what will come to be. she wraps the painting in silver and ivory paper, wrapped in twine for an easier way to carry to the winter star viewing. by the time she sees him, jiae’s shy - a little awkward, because this is the first time anyone will have seen her paintings in months. still, she thinks that there’s no one else she would rather give it to than cheonsa as she hands it over with a smile.
in the end, jiae simply hopes he likes it.
