I create a playlist monthly for my beginner class. There is no shuffle button here, the playlist is in sync with each posture, sequence: sped up during repetitions, slowed down during relaxation. The track list has been requested and here I am delivering the goods. Enjoy!
Ha·tha
meditation of the physical body.
‘ha’ =sun and relates to the positive energy, masculine, heat, rational, logical, assertive aspects of our nature, while ‘tha’ = moon and relates to the negative energy, feminine, creative, intuitive, relaxed aspects.
Balance.
The body, breath, and mind must be working in harmony with eachother. The breath is the link between the two.

yoga preface: the first part belongs to the body. most “yogis” remain entangled with the first part. now more than ever yoga has become synonymous with yoga postures: headstands in a mirrored studio, oh so peaceful in lotus pose, a little bit of contortions… and that’s it.
the physiological part of yoga will give you great physiological power; those powers can set you up for a really long, healthy life. but what are you going to do with a really long, healthy life?
there is much beyond the mat when it comes to yoga. i t i s a l i f e st y l e. and it is not easy. it is discipline: frustration. it’s talking about it to your friends all the time and they’re bored. it’s wanting, it’s getting over, it’s the surprise, the enlightenment…it’s life.
i’ve decided to change the format here. play around with time, put it in a box. remind myself and enlighten others - the art and lifestyle of yoga on and off of the mat
