Princess Mononoke
So I just went this epic tangent on Princess Mononoke. As I was explaining the story to try and get my friend interested I just had to talk about the art, and the voice acting, and the fact that the script was written by Niel Gaiman, and before I knew it I was reeling off massively complex and exceedingly long sentences, forsaking the need to breath until I had to, and making wild gesticulations. (I didn't even get a chance to touch on the complex political references and historical subtext. ) The spark of passion about art, in any form, be it comic, or film, or anything, is the meaning of Geek. To be a Geek is to be so passionate abut something that you can talk about it forever. It doesn't matter what anybody says. No one can call you a fake in your passion. No one can take that away from you.
