'The Great Giana Sisters'

"Giana Sisters is very heavily inspired by Super Mario Bros, to the point that the name is a reference. Rainbow Arts saw the supposed success of Mario Bros back then, and I still remember the boss of Rainbow Arts saying, "Hey, we could make something like that in two weeks! Why is it so successful? Let's just do it now. And instead of "Super Mario Bros," we'll just call it "The Great Giana Sisters."" That worked well for a while, until the Mario Bros became more internationally known. Rainbow Arts then found a distributor in England, who then changed the cover and wrote: "Move over brothers, here come the Giana Sisters!" Nintendo then wrote a nasty letter. There were no charges as such, but a warning to take it off the market. That's why there wasn't a second Giana Sisters, and Hard N' Heavy was developed.
