The delphox took a deep breath, remembering details of her past life. “You see, me and my sister were born into slavery. We were tasked to tend the fields, tending to the berries and farming them for the one who…’owned us’.

“Many years later, there was news on the mansion they were being held in. It was invaded by a group of delta revolutionaries and the man was said to be killed in the crossfire. I didn’t know what happened that day, I was scared out of my mind, wondering if my family survived it” Although she spoke about the possible death of her mother and sister, a small smile appeared on her face.

“Haven is one of the very few cities who welcomed deltas better than others. It’s where most of my kind escape to. If my sister was scene near there, that’s the place where my mother will be too!“ Zabrina let out a long sigh, rubbing her arms as she looked up to the sky, staring at the stars.

“I understand the concern. I know there might be a possibility that this is all a faux act. This is why I hide my mark on my shoulder, hoping to at least keep it hidden until we reach the mountainside. But that’s just it, it’s a possibility. It’s not a fact. I know first hand about not being given a chance. To be judged on the spot. I...refuse to act in that way. I refuse to push people away!”

“That’s what I did with Selene. I took a risk telling her what I was. And she was not bothered, nor did she care. If I didn’t had hope when I did, I probably would always be cautious around her. I know I can trust her, and I hope to see if she trusts me”

The delphox took a deep breath, calming her nervs. “This is what I must do, give others a chance. If I don’t, I would not be the vulpine I am. I would shut myself from the world, and that’s not me”

The fight had split in two. Edan had taken Selene as his opponent, due to having attacks that were stronger against the bug type. If the scolipede taken out, the delta fox would quickly be overwhelmed. The speed boost the centaur had was proving problematic though, as the more they fought, the faster she became.

“Are you almost ready Selene?!” Zabrina called out to her.

“Drawing the battle as long as you can so you can escape using speed boost?”

“We'll see about that!” Kurami shouted after she elbowed the vixen.

Edan ducked under one of Selene’s swings before he leapt up and away to get some distance. At that moment, the scolipede’s  body turned to shadow before she was suddenly in front of him in the air-

-and slamming him back down on the ground.

“Pursuit?!”

“I got you!” she shouted, thrusting her stingers down.

“What the?!” Selene gasped out. The greninja was able to break away from Zabrina when she noticed her companion being slammed to the ground. She held onto the Scolipede’s wrist, glaring at her.

“Getting to cocky because of your speed boost? Lets see how you do without it!” She opened her mouth wide, before firing a heavy mist point blank. The move may not have damaged the bug centaur, but that wasn’t her intent. Haze, a move that resets any buffs.

“Gaaah!!” Selene cried out as she and Zabrina get engulfed by the thick dark fog. The scolipede could feel the haze seeping into her skin, her boosted speed being nullified by the move. She became engulfed in this mist, Zabrina hurrying inside.

“Are you alright?” Zabrina asked her, appearing next to Selene.

“She used Haze on me. I’ve been reverted back to my normal speed. Dammit!”

“Can’t you boost it back up again?”

“They would most likely use Haze on me again to keep me from escaping” Selene was running low on options. There go to escape plan had received a handicap. She could try running, but carrying the delphox would slow her down….hold on. Selene looked to the delta delphox.

“Zabrina, listen to me and do EXACTLY what I say!”

“How are you holding up?”

“I’m fine. Was just taken by surprise. Where are-?” “Both are in my Haze. The centaur should have slowed down a bit”

“Great work. Now we can-”

The scolipede comes bursting out of the Haze, Zabrina’s dress flowing behind her as she gallops away from the hunters.

“There they are!” Kurami bursted out.

“They’re trying to escape! Get them!”

“Hurry before she gets too fast for us!”

The two hunters ran after the fleeing bug-type, unbeknownst that this was a plow.

Selene wasn’t carrying Zabrina, but she was holding onto the dress. The haze did well into concealing that fact as she ran through the trees. The Delta Delphox was still behind, having left the haze in another direction and hiding behind shrubbery. She peaked above as the footsteps became faint, seeing that the plan was working.

“Can’t believe that worked” she said, as she thought back to the on-the-spot plan.

“Take off your dress!” Selene told her.

“What?!”

“Take it off and hand it to me! Take cover behind the bushes and meet me on the mountain side over yonder!”

“But-?” “Just do it!”

Most likely, Selene would be using her normal speed to lead them away, and using the adrenaline from the chase to hurry back over. It was genius! Now that the hunters were away and none the wiser, it was time to head to the mountain side and wait for Selene. While her mind wandered, the vixen didn’t realize someone was behind her

“HELLO!” greeted the alakazam!

“'oly ma av arceus!” Zabrina shouted. She was so surprised by the sudden psychic type that she had reverted back to her accent. She blushed heavily upon realizing what she had said. “I-I mean...hi?” “Woooah that was something huh?!” the alakazam said, “I saw it all! Those two did NOT look friendly. You alright miss?”

“Y-yeah I’m fine. Wh-who are-?”

“Erebus is the name good lady! And what’s yours?!” “Z-Zabrina!” she said.

“Need some help Zabrina? Wouldn’t want those guys finding you! They look baaaad to the bone!”

“H-help? Oh! I....see no harm...do you know where I can find the mountains?”

“The mountains? Oh yeah sure follow me! Do not want a pretty lady like you get lost after all!”

Zabrina stood back up as Erebus pointed her in a direction. The vixen walked with the alakazam, who was practically skipping along.

The booms of the impacts echoed within the forest. Kurami was focusing on the Scolipede and slashing away with her Water Shuriken. Serene blocking each strike the frog woman threw at her.

“Is that all?” Selene asked as a fire glow appeared behind her. She looked back, seeing the masked man leaping towards her.

“You wish!” Edan called out.

Edan was thrown back by the blast, tumbling over the ground before rolling back to his feet. “Zabrina, stay back!” Selene ordered.

“You’re outnumbered! I won’t just stand back while you fight them on your own!” “I can handle it!”

The scolipede could feel her ability activate; her muscles tensing as she shifted and launched away from another strike  from the Greninja, the amphibian’s eyes going wide. Selene appeared behind her, her stingers raised above her head; Kurami’s pupils shrinking as they thrust toward her back.

Blasted away by the Flamethrower attack, Selene cried out from the super effective move. The attack left scorch marks on her exoskeleton, the heated plating searing her skin.

“Selene!” Zabrina called to her, standing between her companion and the two hunters. Kurami quickly ran to her partner’s side, a shuriken in hand.
