It was a joke, a tease, but it held a nugget of meaning behind it as Sebastian cast a raised brow up at the man walking next to him on patrol. It was an unusually morose statement for the younger man to make. Normally, he was peppy and positive and full of enthusiasm. It was strange to see him look so reserved and contemplative.
It made him wonder what might have caused such a state in him.
"You've got all of us, now. The town's practically wrapped around your finger. You don't have to prove anything, sure, but you're not without things to lose." A shrug. "That's what keeps me going.
