Aerith is aware that they don't know each other much, and yet, she can tell Cloud is a good man behind that cold facade. After all, he has spent a huge part of the day helping the children of Sector 5. It's something Aerith herself does quite often, too. She sells flowers and plays with these children. She wishes she could do more, though. She wishes she could use her magic to really help. She's clumsy, but she still can fight.

As they're walking back to Aerith's home, she takes a deep breath. "Hey, Cloud, tell me... is that sword very popular among SOLDIER ? Or is it some kind of rare, special one ?" She has recognized the Buster sword right when they first met as she was selling flowers on Loveless Avenue. Maybe it's a silly question, but she needs to know.

A quiet moment. Solem. Different from the usually loud and obnoxious teenager. Well. She would be offended if you called her either one of those things but the mantel fit. While she could hold her own in a fight, and then some, arguably her greatest ninja trick was being able to switch on that smile. Bold and bright. Over the top and into annoyance territory almost by design. She’d learned that being annoying was often much more effective than being distant or refusing to answer questions or deflecting. People simply didn’t bother asking and she got to do what she wanted, win win, right?

“I’m bored~” her statement is almost sing-song as she turned on the narrow rock she’d been perched upon, overlooking the valley below. Unbothered by the height and precarious position she stood in. “This is boring, where are the fiends, and we haven’t found single piece of materia here.” Oh Yuffie, forever self serving. At least for now anyway. 

A dramatic sigh left her, shoulders dropped as she swayed dangerously from side to side, one small step away from the cliff drop. “You think this next place will have a good snack store at least?” If there wasn’t materia, she would settle for sugar.

The warehouse was dark; the only source of light being that of dim lanterns or flashing LEDs sitting high above. Storage containers made the place a maze as she cautiously stepped through. With poor vision, Tifa kept her ears open for anything she would need to be prepared for. She kept her breathing quiet.

This warehouse was where she was noted to take care of a man; one she had only heard the name of. One burned into her memory, that ignited the fury that turned her into a mercenary. It was time to finally seek the revenge that she craved; her body physically reacting with the anticipation. Hair stood on her skin and her blood rushed; it wasn't much longer now that she'd be facing a nightmare in person -- in real life.

Another set of footsteps caught her attention and she slinked close to the wall. Her chest grew tight when they only became louder, incoming her direction. Fists clenched, ready to strike. Whoever was on the corner she hid in the shadows of would feel her wrath. When the steps grew close enough, Tifa stood, fists tight and flying.

But when the light flashed on the figure, she froze, nearly met with the steele of a blades edge. Ruby hues widened and jaw clenched at the sight of the familiar figure standing before. Without lowering her fists just yet, her head cocked as her voice broke.

"Cloud?"

While Zack focused on taking care of the wound the other now had. He looked up a tiny bit and spoke up “You didn’t realize how many enemies were around, it’s a mistake we all have made at one point in time or another.” 

Zack knew Cloud didn’t have the same instincts and reaction time that he did. But, what’s done was done. Having finally got the bullet out and blood cleaned up. Zack grabbed a roll of gauze and gently wrapped it around the wound.

 “What matters most is that you’re okay Cloud. You feeling all right though? Not dizzy or anything?” Zack knew all too well the symptoms of too much blood loss and wanted to make sure that Cloud wasn’t experiencing it.

Tifa was in a mood that evening. Her eyes rarely left Cloud even while they entertained their friends while they were in town. Something about having him close by while the gang was back made her feel a bit more...clingy...than usual. She hadn’t even realized just how bad she had it until they were both in the kitchen.

Cloud asked her if she was alright, having noticed her change in demeanor. Blushing, she nodded and hastily explained that she had a lot on her mind.

Lie -- I have only you on my mind.

Feeling bold, she leaned over and kissed him, his hands on his shoulders as he stumbled backwards, surprised by the sudden assault on his lips. He responded, of course, wrapping his arms around her and keeping her close as she explored his mouth.

When he pulled back for air, he glanced over her towards the main room where the others were laughing and carrying on. Tifa heard him murmur something about how they would be caught and they’d never hear the end of it.

“Don’t care,” she simply replied, going in and kissing him hard again, feeling like she could never get enough.

They didn’t stop until they heard Barret and Yuffie whoop in unison some time later.

All of a sudden, the man appeared on this world that wasn’t his own. Why? He was supposed to check for anyone who knew Aerith and Zack, who’d been reborn into his world after dying on this one. 

They wanted to catch up with their friends and have messages relayed, back and forth. So he was here for that, wanting to help them. He also wanted to explore this world, find self entertainment and hostiles to kill.

And so, the exploration around whatever city he’d appeared in, begun!

There were a lot of things that had gone wrong over the years, a lotof times Zack had wanted to quit moving forward and give up.  Therewere many times he had considered just forgetting all of it, lettingwhatever happen that would.  There was even a time when he had givenup on his dreams and his honor.

But somehow, through all of that, he had managed to persevere.  Andif his entire life was leading up to this moment, then...well, maybeit was worth it.

He was reclining on the sofa, Cloud tucked quietly between his legs,his head resting on Zack's chest, bright blue eyes closed and hisbreathing slow, despite the fact that they weren't even an hour intothe movie they were watching.  Well, that was all right.  Thedelivery business was pretty busy this time of year, and Cloud didn'tget a lot of time to relax.

If Zack had to do it all again, he mused as he pressed a kiss intothose messy blond spikes, and he would arrive here again at theend...well, that wasn't a hard choice.  It was worth it.

                                    It was actually well into the evening. While Cloud’s day has been a busy one, crammed down to the minute with matches and training, Lucas’s has been fairly relaxed compared to most. That meant one of three things: practicing, entertaining himself with whomever or whatever was around the mansion, or simply observing. And he’d observed that Cloud was pushing himself hard — maybe a little too hard. Lucas had always known that he wanted to make a good impression on the veterans, but he couldn’t help being a little concerned, even with the smile pulling at his lips.

                                    He kicked off his sneakers and crawled onto the bed, draping himself over his friend like a human blanket. With a gentle cant of the head to one side, his wide eyes met with Cloud’s tired ones.

                                    ❝ ...You’re exhausted, aren’t you? I didn’t want you to miss dinner — you must be starvin’. It’s the Mario brothers’ turn to cook tonight. ❞
