WFH
For those of us who can work from home, it’s at times like this when a garden office comes into its own. Here are a few re-visits to previous projects which feature some great garden studios to inspire!
Jesmond House
In collaboration with MawsonKerr, this project focused around a ground floor extension to the main property on the site, with the addition of a timber office and at the end of the garden. This simple structure created an escape from the main family home, nestled within the trees.
Writers Block
This garden studio was designed for a screenwriter who wanted to add a flexible space to his Walter Segal home, but one that would be expressly made for thinking, writing, laying-out scenarios and watching movies on the biggest screen possible. The timber structure sits calmly in a secluded part of the garden, with glimpses of the trees moving in the wind seen through the slats.
Brook Barn
Located in rural Sussex this garden studio was a modern addition to an 18th century converted barn. We used materials such as corten steel, concrete and reclaimed oak in a simple way to strike a balance between old and new.
