2 and 18 for the worldbuilding ask game!!
From this ask game
What is the usual climate like? What precipitation, temperature, and humidity is common?
Okay so,,,, this is VERY area-specific, and each of the three kingdoms has different ways things go about. The Kingdoms (and often the city/district boundaries within said Kingdoms) were split based on environmental differences, so it's less like each place is beholden to one type of weather and more like the borders were made around the area's typical environment.
Maethveserine is probably the closest to our world's weather, where it goes through all four seasons without intervention.
Arran Thalas is somewhat strange, as it tends to not change without intervention, so if it's summer for too long there can be serious droughts, but if it's winter for too long things won't grow, ect. Therefore the weather is typically moved along by the people living there, Winter Wrap Up style! Dryads and Druids help welcome spring, Winterlings help move winter in and out of where it's needed, and Eladrin of every season help keep things in order!
Shylha Dorthore has its districts split by environment as well, and it has by far the most diverse conditions out of any of the kingdoms. The Kingdom's Capitol, where the ruler Kaivara lives, is an area filled with different farms and gardens, basically a giant greenhouse, and is the Kingdom's main agricultural environment. The district run by Fensira is a land made almost entirely out of crystals, and is the main jewelry export to all three kingdoms. Zacria runs the forest district, the main logging and lumber environment. Falias runs the district known to many as "The City of Study", which has the largest and most prestigious collection of arcane schools in the kingdom. Tavmendi runs the relatively small district that houses a portal to and from the Material Plane, so while they don't have any major exports they do allow the other districts to buy and sell wares in the Material Plane as well. Dos'run watches over the area where most of the livestock and other animals are bred and trained for work or food, trading them for the other district's resources they can't get in their own district. Araquiel lives in and runs the city built into the center of the Kingdom's largest mountain, which is the main coal mining environment. Stargazer runs the cloud-city of the Fairy, Avariel, and Winged Eladrin, which oversees that the weather conditions for the other district's exports are as optimal as possible, and circumventing any major weather hazards. Quicksilver is somewhat controversial in the area they run, because while they run the main Bardic School area and run it well, they were originally from Stargazer's district and don't quite fit into the aesthetic or culture that the Bards of the city are used to. Uriel runs the underwater city that lies in the ocean on the outskirts of the Kingdom- still within the Kingdom's borders, just not on the land- which is the Kingdom's main seafood and fishing environment. Perlamin oversees the desert-like area of the kingdom, where the Kingdom's army is trained and prepared for if war should ever strike again. Enrona runs the smaller snowy mountain district, built alongside its walls, which is the main blacksmithing environment in the kingdom and supplier of tools the other districts use and the Army's weaponry. And finally there's Xichikh's district, a swampy environment illuminated by giant glowing mushrooms, which contains the main breweries of potions and poisons in the kingdom.
What flora or fauna are common? Are they hostile or passive? How would you describe the typical natural environment?
