Dealing With the Fallen

With no official side to score points for, even though he was still technically an angel, Aziraphale couldn’t help but be compelled to do good. As he always did. Armageddon was no longer an issue (for now), but that wouldn’t keep the Angel from performing a miracle or two. Only this time, it had nothing to do with work. It was almost as if an angel was hardwired to do good.

Aziraphale couldn’t help but notice the grotesque deaths in the area. All of which seemed an extension of, rather a bastardization of, lust. It was already a sin, but it had been taken to an extreme that was awfully frightening. It was worrying the public and frankly, worrying the Angel.

A rouge demon was loose.

The crime scene in question was the fifth of the week. Aziraphale had slipped inside the building while authorities were occupied. He would conveniently go unnoticed while he scoured the gristly scene before him.

It was strange -- there was love, but...it felt wrong. Aziraphale could recognize it as love but it was meddled with. This had to be a demon at work. The imprint in the room was too strong to ignore. And the bodies? Well he had seen humans do some terrible things to each other. But this? A mutual mutilation? A miracle was too late for the beings on the ground, but maybe he could try and figure out the next victims before the evil entity struck? Or, better yet, find that entity.

Leaving the scene, he tried to follow trace amounts of the feeling like a bloodhound on a rabbit’s scent gone cold. It started to feel like it split in multiple directions and it would ultimately halt any progress Aziraphale hoped to have.

After the feeling split, it dissipated into nothingness.
